hi VS you did well on the transponders,i used 1.5cm dish with Titanium C1 wideband I will have to do a swap with the EX241 to see if there is any difference.
Helluva haul on a 1.5 ..but not so surprising in light of your location.
As to the lnb swap test.
..Not today for me tho' buddy ..
That test will have to wait.
Be lucky just to get the jack re-fitted..
trying to oil fill/soak the internals around the worm atm..
I'd be interested in your results tho'

..what's really needed imo ...is these jacks fitted with a grease nipple so could be easily topped up with a grease gun..
but then ..if we could maintain 'em in situ they wouldn't sell as many ..would they.

A good days work I think..
Working outside all day with my shirt off and a dose of man-flu ..but feel I got a result.
I would guestimate a 30% reduction in noise level...and that awful grating and shuddering has reduced also.
Nice build up of back pressure as the jack closed caused a hiss and jet of oil to be expelled through the drain hole ..
Sounded terrible at the time but satisfying.
Time for a long soak in the bath I think.

Dammit I can't find my Vbox manual ..
I know it's possible to shift the entire collection of stored points in one go by the same number of pulse counts ..
Damned if I can remember the procedure..
anyone remember how ?
rather than re-store them all individually..

Vbox is a Superjack type.

Ok ..sorted it ..
Took a gamble it was just resync and OK ..
My problem was that I didn't press and hold the Re-sync button long enough..
Press and hold till SR appears..

hi VS did a scan on 55.5W with EX241 I found gain on quite a few channels was up though others were stronger on the C1 wideband because of the extra gain on the EX241 it brought in an extra transponder making total now 34 with 117 channels,i did the same on 58W I got an extra transponder making total now 18 with 259 channels.

Welp, I moved the 1.5m Gibby to a new location, in the corner of the garden. It's now seeing between 30E and 61.5W, though it's only partial illumination due to trees in the way.

Done a blind scan on 55W and got 14 transponders.

IMAG0816.jpg IMAG0817.jpg

Same with 58W and got just 2 transponders. A lot of them appear to be just below lock... not sure if I'd get more by entering the details in manually... Will try this on the Uno shortly and see what happens!

IMAG0820.jpg

I am not sure how much illumination I am getting at 55W and 58W due to aforementioned trees in the distance. This is on the offset linear BSC421 LNB... offset is about 6 degrees so the dish is pointing at about 64W...

Why did you do it that way round? Makes more sense having the linear LNB on the east side of the dish.

On the Uno scanning with pre-defined TPs... make that 3 transponders on 58W. 4040H, 4122H and 3880V.

55.5W returned 20 TPs totalling 73 channels.

Not a bad day, bagging two more C band satellites.

Before I relocated the dish, the only linear satellites I received were 37.5W and 3E, so it made sense to have it on the west side of the dish. I'll swap them over at some point but it's a hassle trying to reprogram the Vbox again to the new positions...

Can someone let me know the strongest transponders on 53W, 50W, 45W and 43.1W? I did have 50W logged on the 1.2m when AIT was on it but had nothing since it left.

53W -> 3720R
50W -> 4030H / 4164V
45W -> nothing scanned here (probably tried and couldn't).
43W -> 3877V / 3994H

Didn't get any of these. 50W transponders you quoted don't look correct - I couldn't cross reference them with any sat listing site.

Did manage to log a bunch of AITs on 53W, so that's another new one for me today.

Swapped the LNBs around but gained very little, if anything. So looks like I am getting near full illumination of the dish.

Been tweaking the C1PLL (offset) on the 1.5 Just to check I can pull anything at 1W ..
Just managed a slightly broken lock on BBC Africa ..
3.9db ..
Max I guess without being at the focus ...easily 8 degrees off centre..
Not bad I guess as it requires 4.2 minimum on the offset ESX on Christina..
fwiw I do think the C1PLL is slightly better at maining a lock on an offset dish ..though overall less sensitive than an ESX.
Horses for courses I guess..

Strange. Looks like 53W. I need to check. Or this is a copy of a transponder on 53W.

It's got to be a big signal if blind search finds it 3º away.

Anyway, in that case 50W and 45W look dark for me. Used to have AIT on it a while back. Maybe some feeds come up once in a while.
