Any one running dump 1090 willing to try an experiment?

My connection will be on and offline until Monday at the earliest. My router has a problem so I am limping on an emergency router for now.

New router ordered that arrives on Monday.

Not sure what's up, but it's been working sporadically over the last few days. Be on to it sometime today.

Didn't lock that thread. Odd.

This end should be OK now, host address had changed back from xxx.xxx.x.92 to its original 91, maybe because my other RPi, which used 91 has been offline for some time. BT Hub shenanigans.

Your feeding me ok :Y
I keep getting "FR Link Disconnected", then I get Not Configured.

I go to settings, save and reset, and it connects OK for ten minutes, and it Disconnects again.
Try to reconnect, and the 91 link doesn't open.

Will it let you go into the settings, and confirm it’s reading the correct IP address?

I think it's an RPi problem. Going to my router's Home Address page, the RPi ip address is disappearing occasionally.

I'll set up my other RPi and try that, but need to program a mini SD, as the SD in the existing RPi is a full size one.

Mine says 127.0.0.:30105

ISTR I had to change ports when I first set FR up. I'll try 30005.
No joy. I'll try the other RPi when I've set it up.

Is the dump version the mutability version? If so it could be saving the logs and filling up the temporary memory.

I had a similar issue. I fixed mine with a cron job to delete all files bigger than 100 mb’s

My cron runs at 23:59 to delete the files and at 00:00 it reboots to free up the space.

I will see if I can find the cron job rule.

(Thanks to Phil of 360Radar for helping me find the cron job solution)

If I can find it I will post it up.

Cron job code:

Code:
Sudo find / -xdev -type f -size +100M -exec du -sh {} ';' | sort -rh | head -n50 -delete

sudo find /var/log -type f -size +100M -delete

Hope this helps.

You can also manually run these commands via ssh, but to free up the space you must reboot the pi afterwards.

Sorry, I'm a little distracted by other jobs at present.

I'll try that and let you know the result later. Thanks for the tip.

I can't connect to the Pi at all now to do any changes. The Pi's LAN LED occasionally flashes, and the router sees the Pi sometimes.
Borrowed my adjacent PC's LAN port and also tried using its WiFi, but no go.
I'll re-program the SD card next.

Seems to be behaving itself now, but only since migrating to my RPi3. I'm using the FR24 S/W cloned from the old RPi's SD to a microSD necessary for the RPi3.

Could've started afresh with new FR24 S/W, but easier to just carry on without re-applying to FR to get new or re-use my existing password.

I think the RPi I have been using has a fault connecting via LAN or WiFi. I'll see what happens by using it with some other S/W.

Did you get a chance to test the Ethernet port on the pi?

Sorry for the delay. Just wanted to soak test the original RPi after what seemed to be the cause of a malfunctioning Ethernet connection.

I think the RPi was finding it a struggle to supply enough current since I added the RTLSDR dongle that was remotely powering my pre-amp through its Bias-T connection. So maybe it just gave up after a while.

I gave the RPi a power boost with a connection to my USB hub, which seems to have done the trick :)

Yes, been running for a fortnight non-stop. RPi not gasping for more current.

Normal Service Will Be Resumed as soon as possible.
My Zbox has been off for a couple of hours. I blew the power trips.
It is back on now.Although not many planes. The reason being that I have just found out that the Colinear antenna has slid out of the plastic tube and is now hanging down the side of the shed.Sorting that out is a job for tomorrow.
