terryashbyash said:Just a quick question, my old digital 1200 is a SD receiver but has dolby digital audio. Is it possible to change the audio pid on one of my itv SD channels on astra 1N to get proper audio. Appreciate someones input please.
BLUEPLATINUM said:If it is true that Atra 2D is being switched off and all frequencies shifted to 1N, then the BBC may consider it less risky to do a normal "dual illumination" migration than an instant TP shift.
Huevos said:I was replying to the Spain post. Here 1N is nowhere near as strong as 2A/B.
Analoguesat said:I havent seen any definite confirmation from SES about a 2D switchoff yet Carole - although "2012" is being quoted on a few forums. As soon as there is any definite info we will of course post it in the fringe section.
Bjarne Nilsson said:Is it only me or is almost nothing happening in regards to 1N, does anyone have any idea when/if BBC will move their transponders 10773.00H to IN (I would lik it very mouch as the corrent tp is weak and fades out certain hours)?
Analoguesat said:Only SES know what their timetable is for shifting transponders around - and they arent saying.
Plenty has happened with 1N since it started. We were never going to get loads of new content on 1N - its main use at 28E is to provide some badly needed backup to the old birds, a little more narrow beam capacity, and allow SES to turn down the electrical generation capacity required on 2A 2B & 2D by swapping a few transponders over to 1N

Analoguesat said:Im sure SES would happily rent Eutelsat some frequencies if so required after a major breakdown
