Interesting - the 28.5E slot argument has blown up again - looks like Deutsche Telekom want it back!

DT operated their Kopernikus birds at 28.5E many years ago.

This part got my attention:

Does that mean only a part of the Eutelsat band or the Eutelsat band ánd (a part of) the SES band. I wonder...

Eutelsat fought through the courts for years to get their frequencies - theres no way they will give any up.

How do you think ses would make more capacity if they had them?

And properly installed UK dish shouldnt have any issues at all getting EB1 frequencies at good signal strength - Ive got a 60cm dish on Astra/Eutelsat at 28E and we dont have any problems at all unless its a monsoon like downpour outside or its snowing heavily & the lnb is covered up/iced over!

ive had the dish aligned two or three times just seem to get a poor signal on eb1 but still quite good signal but comapre that to 1n its weak in my opionion eb1 is about 82% astra 2a,2b and 2d are about 94% 1n is about 98%, i have tried on larger dish i get about 86 on 80cm dish comapred otthe current 60cm dish but i dnt want to use it for 28 as i use it for other oritbal postion but i do plan on doinga a repacement in few years at that point i will look to a bigger dish for the main area 13,19,23,28 and a huge dish for obsecure things like possible soarsat and big motor dish for all other but back tothe point eb1 is weaker for me

Signal strength 100% here. It's snowing heavily right now.

Those are tests and are (sometimes) active since the end of last year. It might be unusual for the Astra 28.2 position but on Astra 23.5 some (feed) providers use even lower SR. For example transponder 20: 12660V (Antenne Bayern) and 12662V (Telekom Austria) with SRs as low as 477 and 555. _http://www.lyngsat.com/astra23.html

I thought you meant Astra in general, my apologies. For Astra 19.2 and Astra 28.2 it's unusual indeed.

Another new data TP has fired up at 11156 V 22500 DVB-S2 8PSK 3/4. It appears to be the same as the signal at 11008 V.

If it wasn't before, it is now. Doesn't show video with my Sky card (non-HD version) using my PC and Oscam.

Just checked the signal strength a number of 2D frequencies and it does look like some have moved to 1N. Among these being the C4 ones at 10714 H and 10729 V as well as ITV TPs 10758 V, 10831 H 10905 V.
