Hiya Folks
We install Sat systems Alicante area.
1.9/1.8 mtr dish and Pace 2600 gets BBC1, ITV, Ch4, CH5, BBC ITV, Ch4 break up at various times and lose late on, switching over from ITV to CH4, ie one goes off other comes on.
2.4 holds them all in most of the time for much longer.

Hiya folks
Further to my last sorry forgot to say, 0.3 Single Invacom is very unreliable some cannot get ITV on 10Gig but good on 12Gig others are frequency variant.0.3 Quad is more even and reliable.

Hello all, This should be useful.

http://www.beitinger.de/sat/astra_2d.html
Use the colour-dot bands in conjunction with a banded chart like say
http://www.satcure.co.uk/2d/fprint.htm
and other reports like those from
http://www.astra2d.co.uk/reports.htm
http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/bbcitv.htm
and http://www.kingofsat.net/pl/beams.php?s=52&b=40 to extrapolate down thru Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, etc., (and up into Scandanavia).

Also http://www.satmania.com/eng/satchannels/dcs1_0.html shows belgrade getting it at 2metres (would need more data points to allow reliable extrapolation down to there).

Note the report for Graz (Austria) which shows a 2m dish 'Ohne Wetterreserve' (without weather reserve) implying signal loss in bad weather (not good).

Also this company in Tröbitz will raise this dish for people living between Dresden and Berlin they say.

http://www.satshop24.de/pd353389445.htm?categoryId=27

I'm gearing up to try for spud-TV on a Sly+ box in Vienna and will add my personal experience in due course.

Liam O'Bigdish :)

No report from me as I am not so lucky as to be as far WEST as you are, but have you seen the attached report map for Germany? I believe it says it 's based on people actually having been succesfull, so not just an estimate.
Looks like you could start TRYING with 150 cm.
Best of luck

Yes it probably is, but I'm pretty sure that Expat who runs the site won't mind, as we pool information for greater assistance to the expatriate viewer.

Brits In Mid-Norway (about 65N). Have had the dish(1.2m) installed and the digibox works fine, get all channels on North beam but can't get any of the channels from 2D and most 2A South channels are 'bitty/off/on'. This signal strength/quality is 100%/80% respectively and the 2D channels all display 'No satellite signal being received'. The transponder page shows the default values of 11.778 and V. Advice from the guy who sold me the dish was that they might appear with some fine tweaking, but the dish alignment/set-up guy says that 100/80 is spot on. Is this simply a case of too small a dish, or is there something that hasn't been done in the set-up of the box in order to receive signals from 2D?

I think you would need a bigger dish. 65N is that about halfway between Bodø and Ålesund? Reports from Ålesund gives a good result with a 1,8m dish and Bodø a bit on/off with a 3,6m dish.

Hiya
I dont know the make but they are good quality imports spun or pressed from one piece with a good solid mount, previous ones we had and returned were split and welded and did not work too well.
There is additional panels available to take them up to 3.1 Mtr for THOR reception to satisfy the needs of Norwegian Expats.

Sounds like the Famaval that is common in Cyprus. They are made in Portugal and have eight panels and about 40 nuts and bolts to expand the dish.Good quality but moves a lot in wind when extensions are put on.

I'd say you'd need at least a 5 meter dish!!! for anything on 28.2 degrees east!!!

Naahh, not 5m, maybe for Astra 2D although in Larisa Greece you can get BBC with 3m solid but 2A/B all beams a 2.40m should be enough i'd say because in Thessaloniki many people receive them quite well with 1-1.20m except 2B North which needs 1.80-2.40m there.

Aren't H+V waves affected differently during propagation? Also the discrimination of H/V in the LNB will be a contributary factor in the received strength/quality.

Trying to get signals to my dish here in Norway, more precisely Asker (that's 10,4 E and 59,8 N).

I have about 70-80 cm dish and a standard nokia lnb (don't know the db).

When I do an advanced search I'll get something like A958479 as a result. Is that good for something?

Also any tips on lnb and dish size at my location?

Thanks in advance..

been trying to search for information but I'll get that it's okay from everything to 70 - 200 cm dishes so I'm confused.
