Astra 2E at 28.2E: General Discussion Part 1

The changes will happen during the next days. We dont know exactly what will move on which day. But we know all transponders in Band D (10.7-10.95) will move from 1N UK Spot to 2E UK Spot, and we know a lot (and very likely all) 1N Europe Beam transponders will move to 2E Europe beam. So lots of things to happen. Entertaining weeks for Sat enthusiasts ;)

I know it is all a bit unknown but does anyone have any idea when the migration will take place and so when we may lose channels? And also does anyone know what will be moving? Are there any signals we can test yet on 2E?

Can you still get BBC and ITV with that dish, they will be from the 1N UK beam?

On the BBC,ITV front I would say so, other Sky channels that were lost when 2B went should hopefully return when they transfer 1N PE beam over to 2E PE beam.

yeah, but you have the same strength as the other TPs you said, so it probably isnt the new 2E Europe beam. Here 12.441V has a bit lower RF level than the others, but very good SNR - 18dB.

Given that these 16APSK signals are being received in Finland & Estonia, if they are coming from 2E, it seems unlikely that they are on the UK spot beam.
