My first guess is, it will replace the still non-inclined standby Astra 2B at 19.4 East, which is then free to go to... dunno! :D

the astra 1h replace astra 2b ?

The CoB data has been showing all sort of strange data in the last few weeks. I wouldn't start a new rumour based on this data.
I'd say the algorithm is just not working for a moving satellite (cob is calculated based on current ephemeris data).
The 19.66 East position on 8 Jan is correct with the current transfer speed, that calculation is not wrong.
But indeed it's strange, we suddenly get a single CoB deep into the future, while for several weeks all we had was CoB's of the recent past.
So this may be an accidental date. I understand your point.

the reported cob position moved from the beginning of the reporting period to its end. That can mean all or nothing. It's just too early to spread any new rumours.
19.2 could be a possible destination, but the probability of any other possible destination is still almost identical. We just have to wait.

Thought this thread was Astra 2E on hold @ 43.5E:D

Realise Astra 1H has it`s own thread but cannot understand that this birds transition ( to unknown slot ) has any relationship to do with the 2E birds reluctance to move:-rofl2

As stated earlier in thread Re. ( london underground and train/ track allocation ) :-rofl2

I feel sure the Staff would take Moderating action were it deemed necessary - and we haven't felt the need.

Astrium are still in control of 2E, 2E is not needed till February, so my guess is 2E will be moved by Astrium in the new year and handed over to SES once at 28.2E. There is no need to move it earlier.

1H may well be heading to 19.2E, 1N was due to move there, however maybe 1N will stay at 28.2 until 2G arrives and have what the current 2A and old 2B transponders until 2G arrives, as 2G is now delayed from 1st Quarter to 2nd Quarter 2014. 2A is past it's 15 year lifespan although appears to be functoning OK, however it was slated for duty at 23.5E so that maybe on the cards after 2E is transmitting fully. I can't see SES just relying on 2 satellites (2E/2F) at 28.2E. Still all will start becoming clear February/March time.

I believe 1H is using the 11699L/R circular beacon. 11707V is at 28.2E according to my speccy.

Edit - Oops, 11699 is a Badr beacon at 26E. Need some fine tuning methinks.

This sounds pretty plausible to me, surely though with 1H being inclined it would be no use at 19.2E for DTH use and only best suited at 23.5E where there's lots of feeds utilised? We'll find out by New Year's Day if she's stopping at 23.5E or carrying on!

True, but it left 23.5E with no cover.

Astra 3A has already arrived at 176.85 West to serve Kamchatka, a week or so ago.
Today's center-of-box of Astra 1H insists, it's heading for 19.6 East.
If not, I'd call SES center-of-box data seriously misleading, instead of "Best-knowledge"!
