Interesting. Although my 2F UK Spot reception is limited to intermittent reception of 11053 H. The free to air BBC red button streams set up for the World Cup/Wimbledon/Commonwealth Games come in strong in Gran Canaria (11464 H 22000 5/6) 24/7. I hope the BBC own this TP and will put regular programming on it in the near future.

I have just upgraded the Inverto Black Ultra LNB on my Raven/Channel Master/Andrews 2.4m offset dish to an Invacom C120 QDF-031 Quad (0.3db) with matched Raven feedhorn.

I cannot measure signal levels, but can report that the BBC RB channels on 11464 H which were previously rock solid are now displaying occasional pixelation and I have lost UTV HD which used to come in some of the time (could be would have lost it anyway just now).

I am very disappointed with this outcome as I had hoped the C120 feedhorn would pull in some extra signal. Seems the LNB performance is cancelling out (and some) any gain from the feedhorn.

I think tomorrow I will be changing it to "downgraded", so it might as well stay as it is for now ! LOL.

What about converting the black ultra for use with the feedhorn?

I believe some people have converted them but I don't fancy tackling that. I wonder why Inverto don't make a C120 Black Ultra.

My thoughts exactly.

Interesting results though. Your experience with the BU, compared to the matched feedhorn and Invacom quad combo, is the exact opposite of mine - the BU underperformed.

Apart from skew there is nothing to adjust. Unlike the long neck of the BU, the feed horn is in a rigidly fixed focal point. I am going to put the BU back on to check there isn't some other factor at work. I also replaced the LNB holder as the old one was cracked... may be I somehow got it "off centre ".

That could be the difference. My laminas feedhorn has a little movement - the neck is 30mm but the BU is longer at 52mm. My LNB holder clamp is 20mm wide so only have 10mm adjustment on the lanamis compared to the BU's 32mm.
