well with the reports i have been reading here and elsewhere the ´´rough´´ figure seems to be 40% ...

Do you have any reports of your own you could add to the melting-pot?

There are some people on here taking the P**S I wouldn't take much notice, Everything is ok in south Tenerife on 2.4M channel master and 2.7m Laminas, When I say ok it's watchable, You do get the pixelation lines that go across the screen and channel 5 is the worst for that but ITV Central E and 4Seven are fine.

It seems Lanzarote and Fuerteventura have been hardest hit with 2F, I know that Channel 5 is not working at all there even on a 3.1 Meter Flamival dish, Basically a 2.4m with petals bolted to the outside to make it 3.1m.

That's what my neighbour must have, a 3.1m Flamival. As posted earlier, he has lost Channel 5 on his system. So it definitely seems to be somewhat dependent on what equipment is used and how well its set up.

In your opinion which one is the best dish for the canaries?
Famaval at 3.1m, Laminas 2.7m, Raven 2.4, etc.?
I hope you don't say Raven as it is too costly for my price range...

be lots of large dishs going cheap here soon from villas switching over to INTERNET TV .they are very unpopular with villa owners who rent out their property as they are an eyesore on the roof ,,,,and they have no ´love´for tech .if they charge €2000 a week they can afford to switch

HI Pedro,

The best for sure is the Laminas 2.7.

The Famaval is ok when you first install it but a bit of wind and it's finished.

I agree. But get the matching feed-horn and a good LNB.

So, where do we get the Laminas feed-horn from in Tenerife?

Got mine here some years ago. Forget who it was now but I remember they were based in Los Cristianos. As I recall, I went to Laminas (by e-mail) and asked who they had here as agents for their products. They told me, so that's who I approached. Alternatively, I guess that you could search the net and get one delivered.

Lost all 2F at about 1300 for a bit
loads of cloud around
shows how 'on-the-edge' the signal is

Not yet maybe - give it 6 months!

And today we have an answer - The BBC will migrate next summer when 2E is operational.

My experiments with my scew and the positioning of the LNB neck did not result in any better reception of C4 HD and 4/7 ("heavily pixelated" and "watchable" respectively). However my reception of TPs on E28A Steerable has improved!! I am now wondering if my dish is more oriented towards 28.5E and will need realigning for Astras 2E, 2F and 2G as there are other more positive reports from the Canary Islands.

As I have Channel 5 HD and can put up with Channel 4 in legacy definition for a while, I am going to wait until 2E is up and running before taking any other action.
