I thought 2E was at 28.35 and 2G was 28.15, according to all current data. This puts it well out. Can this be right!

According to satellite-calculations.com

2E 28.38
2F 28.33
2G 28.29

Time to nudge the dish back East?

E28F/ASTRA2F 28.34

ASTRA 2A 28.31
E28G/ASTRA2G 28.28
ASTRA 2C 28.18

Both are only estimated position based on the last issued Celstrak TLE. The TLE does not take into account any housekeeping that may have occured since the TLE was created.

From the SES COB information (issued today at approx 18:50) which is more accurate :

Astra 2F 28.19
Astra 2E 28.38
Astra 2G **.**

COB & Ephemeris data for Astra 2G is not yet available unfortunately.

Astra 2F is moving between 28.17 and 28.23, Astra 2E 28.32 and 28.38

Hopefully they will provide the data for Astra 2G in the near future..

2G is very close to 2F.... 2E is the lonely one further east.... I can see that with the big dish (240cm).

They were almost there this morning so I tried moving the dish a hair to the east and now they're fine.

Here are the official footprints of 2F and 2E side by side: 2E's beam is slightly further east (2E just touching Spain there, while 2F is not), than the one of 2F. Is that due to the different of center of Box 28.2 / 28.35 ?

Not sure about the footprints, but a few of my 1.4´s are struggling at the moment, signals across the board are down here at the moment. Can´t all be down to LNB failure. Time of year?

I have tried to merge them both. It was a bit difficult because the underlying maps didn't match 100%.

Blueish with withe lines is the 2E, the 2F footprint is merged and shows in orange and colored lines.

To me this doesn't represent our situation here at the eastern border. 2E here is always about 2db stronger that 2F.

I tried adjusting skew as was said in the german forum. I managed to get c4hd and the utv/stv transponder to approx. the same level as bbc4hd. they are now all about .5 to .7 db below c5. The ITV transponder is still almost 2 db below the others. I could get even more signal from c4hd but then i loose c5 and bbc4hd.

The reason seems to be the strong PE signals close by. If it is not too hot tonight i will try to scan the signals with my TBS. But I can't promise...

Still got excellent levels of 2G UK, apart from 11024 BBC HD's too weak in the evening, would need a larger dish.
Seemingly nothing to gain by trying to nudge the 120 dish to any presumed slightly different 2E\F\G locations, only one adjustment that seems best for all sats. 2G EU very strong.

Inverto BU Quad/Quattro is very good regarding V/H isolation. They use some patent type of a resonator and a slot in the circular waveguide for the vertical polarization. The disadvantage is though that the sensitivity is slightly worse on the V side. I simulated the isolation and if I remember correct it's at least 40-50 dB. Normal is maybe only 25-30 dB

So why is inverto saying only 22 db minimum in their product webpage?

Maybe the normal copy and paste issue !? Here is the patent. The design is very similar to this...
https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=...com/pdfs/72ef21dfa2f60bdd132e/EP2629360A1.pdf

From Inverto web page:

Main Features
• Superior Phase Noise Performance, DVB-S2 (HDTV) compliant
• Superior Noise Figure
• Extremely high Cross Polarization Isolation
• Very low Spurious Levels
• Higher Conversion Gain
• Ultimate Reliability
