LOTS of snow and rain coming - looks like it's soon going to be time to get the flood rescue boats out again in many parts of the UK!

We've had a terrible two days here. Lots of rain and a near constant gale force wind. Outside the house is one long muddy pool (non swimming)...never mind, it won't stop us going out for lunch...

Been a rotten couple of days down south as well, and it's not looking good for tomorrow/Monday

Lovely day here ..... the snow from a few days ago hasn't really thawed, so the hills look stunning in their winter finery.

The pilot(s) would make good aerobatics guys - if they are not are not already!- because that landing reminds me of the ones that Brendan O'Brien used to do in a Piper Cub to land on a moving trailer at Wings & Wheels at Dunsfold!

Also, a landing in a 737 in, IIRC, 1988 on the night of the Black Fridays storms at Gatwick at about 4am - sitting 1/2 down the cabin, I could feel and see the fuselage moving visibly from side-to-side, but after we got down to around 250ft the pilot came on the cabin speakers and said he'd aborted the landing and we were off to Heathrow! I'll never forget his comment "the co-pilot and I have over 11,000 hours between us, and we've never seen anything like that!"

On that same evening some where in south london i was doing car recovery work, i remember delivering car and passengers home in the high winds dropping off in a tree lined avenue. as i drove away the gusts were breaking of tree branches on top of the cars parked on the roadside most seemed to be mercedes or similar, car alarms going off and bits of tree every where i couldnt get a way quick enough.

I have no experience of the M3, nor William's channel list.

I hope the results after I visited are slightly better than when I arrived though.

The minicab driver who (finally!) got me from Heathrow that (early!) morning after told me that the previous cab didn't come because he'd had a shop sign through his windscreen!

Snow on the ground but it was lovely in the sun earlier - sheltered from the breeze it was plenty warm enough to have a cup of tea and a couple of jammie dodgers sitting outside (once I had brushed the snow off the bench!)

May be an interesting night (mountains in Alpes Maritimes). Wondered about taking down the 140x130 from the exposed roof, but secured it with some wires, hopefully enough...

This sounds wired to me.... is that multi-focus or simple offset dish? :-rofl2 But, in any case, any of them can easily sustain such a windy days.

From what I saw on TV, "wait for tomorrow" and see!

If you haven't heeded the warnings and prepared over the last couple of days, then tomorrow is going to be a hoot.

Quite. It beggars belief. And this is the same south-centric media that conflates in an utterly non-scientific way, climate change and global warming

White Rain here. Still, it's above freezing for the first time in a week, so I can safely get back into T-Shorts.
