Mine dish is usually facing southwards - on 5e at the moment. Various observations suggest that it's less bovvered in high winds at this location as opposed facing the wind either to SW or SE... And it's a very exposed location (plain fields past south mark to the west).

Horizontal rain here, on for five seconds, then off for 20. I wouldn't mind normally, but it's coming from the north west, so is hitting the roof air vents head on, so I expect a moist feel to the bedroom tomorrow

It's alive and kicking here in Essex, the gales actually woke me up about half an hour ago followed by the downpour. Hopefully my 80cm motorised setup can withhold the 45-50mph gusts that are forecast between now and tomorrow afternoon. I moved it to 0 position earlier just to be on the safe side as a few years back I mistakenly left it on either 42E or 52E and woke in the morning to find the dish arm had completely twisted.

The last two hours here have lively. Fortunately it's bin collection day today otherwise it would be a somewhat messy outside.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Been a bit windy through the night, probably that Polish pork sausage I had yesterday, but the weather's been pretty gusty through the night, to the point where a few gusts shook the house, which is quite impressive for a stone-built mid-terraced house.......

I was woken up at 2.06 by a gust of wind as the dish rattled like hell due to so much backlash. I think it still up there.

My dish is surviving the onslaught but I think something gave way - it's not tracking true any more. Have to give it a couple of clicks eastwards to land on the correct spot - which makes sense, with the wind blowing from the west....

Just checked mine at 19 E and it was fine. A bit of luck but with the dish rattling in the night I think its best I put a safety wire on it, from the dish to a big screw eye in the gable end. Cost a fortune if it goes onto next doors conservatory roof.

Yes, a few of us have various locking mechanisms to stop this kind of thing from happening. Some, like @John, completely winch the whole thing down.

Woke up this morning to see next doors 6ft fence panel laying next to the 2.2. Luckily it did not hit the dish. Still very windy.

The only casualty here was my gate fence post broke easily repaired this morning with a piece of 4 x 4 & 2 x 2 wood & a mallet,
Looks like lowering the dishes 2 months ago did the trick no alignment problems despite gale force winds.

Continual buffeting on the back wall of the house. The 1.1 Triax dish needs a couple of clicks on the V Box to get each satellite now... Nothing wrong iside the house. New V Box only 3 weeks ago... Was advised the gearing in the motor has had it. Another job!
1.2 Channel Master not moved at all as it is bolted onto the patio.

More rain this evening, quite heavy now which I didn’t notice on the forecast earlier. The ground is completely sodden out back.

Roll on the hosepipe ban in six months time.

Its barely got light here today - as I was driving into work this morning all the hills were hidden in the mist, and it was piddling it down. It continued to piddle down all bloody day
