Those "poodles" must have been pi**ing a lotWet, with a capital "W".
Fields sodden, ditches overflowing and enormous poodles in the lanes.
What's it like where you are (and does your house still have the roof on!)?
Totally agree with the sentiments, especially regarding sat-navs, as once "one" gets lost using one of those, then who knows where the hell "one" will end up - happened to SWMBO a couple of years ago when she drove down to see her son in Reigate, and then got lost coming home, and thus, instead of driving 5 miles by the backroads to J8 on the M25 and then driving West up to J15, finished up on the M23 (towards Gatwick) and it then took her a good hour or more extra to find her way home..... FFS they should make it compulsory for every driver to have inclement weather training as opposed to multiple choice theory tests. My 34 year old son after living in London for 13 years and not needing a driving license decided to learn to drive and passed his test 2nd attempt, but was when I was down there incapable of travelling anywhere without a satnav and followed it implicitly even when it guided him to a dead end.
Drove down from Newcastle Upon Tyne yesterday afternoon through snow and ice, hail and rain and even lightening
Still very windy almost everywhere in the UK & NI - has anyone actually had "important" stuff come down &/or blow away?
