It was just such a storm as the one heading our way ..that blew my Alcoa down last winter ..
Shes better braced than last year of course ..but that doesn't stop the wind warping her ..
Now parked at 1West and as elevated as the jack will allow ..and there she will remain for the next few days ...
The TD88 ..being on a North West exposed corner ..has been pointed to 70East ...back into the coming wind ...and likewise it will not move again for a few days ..
My biggest problem lies with the much exposed & high up TD110,,,which I've just pointed to 58 West ....more or less face on into the onslaught ..the 'tough it out position' ....also makes it possible to lassoo the lnb assembly with a nylon rope ...and drag the loose end into the bathroom through the window ..and trap it down with a stick tied on to prevent the rope sliding ..
Again ..this is how it will remain unmoved until the storm passes ..
I'm seriously thinking of designing a V shaped brace clamping around the lnb arm and bolted to the wall either side of the dish ..next year ..that can be put into place every storm warning .
Certainly worth the effort ..as this situation is likely to worsten each year for the forseeable...
And to be honest ..after last years dishaster ...It has me depressed in a mighty big way ..
Good luck everyone ..
