It's the third day in a row it's got to around 23 degrees.

I'll be bathing the cat in the next hour.

That's not a euphemism I've heard before.

Yes, that reminds me to trim mine. I do my own on a '0' or '1' setting. I'm never sure which but it requires no plastic guide on the clippers. Just as well as the plastic guides went 'missing' when one of the dogs was a puppy. Luckily the amount of hair I possess requires little maintenance.

@CH - Despite having five cats here, I've never had to bathe one.....sounds like a chain mail and motorbike gauntlets job....it's bad enough trying to get them into a basket for a vet visit....

Edit : Oh how I wish I'd read Tivù's reply before mentioning chain mail and motorbike gauntlets.....

Actually, he is pretty docile (once caught). As he is coming up to 14 years old he doesn't keep his fur as clean as he used to, and there are a number of sleeping places he uses where he will pick up something I would rather not have on/in the bed.

He will normally get a bath once every couple of months with prior knowledge that the sun is out for the majority of the afternoon. Today was an ideal opportunity.

..Don't say I didn't warn you ..not to pre-empt summers arrival ..
Already getting too cold here to work comfortably outside with my petal mould..and worse to come with temps dropping a further 8 to 10 degrees..
..even a possibility of snow for those further North than me..
Time drag your BBQs back into the shed ..and reinstal those patio heaters ??
rgds
VS with very cold partially functioning hands.
doh!

Couldn't come soon enough.

The job I had yesterday was pulling a cable through a loft. No fun in the 20 or so degrees and bright sunshine, the fibreglass packing was filthy and there were three wasps looking around for this years lodgings. I couldn't wait to get out.

Despite waking up to a beautifully sunny day, it was a cold night and there's a freezing NE wind blowing. So despite cleaning out the Rayburn last week, I've reluctantly decided to re-light it, hopefully just for a few days......who mentioned BBQ?....

Now jolly well see here ---------- we discarded our knotted hankies two weeks ago AND got a Number 2 trim of the remaining hair.

I shall be in T-shirt and shorts until November, regardless.

Cheveux not chevaux....otherwise you end up at the hairdressers asking someone to clip your horses......as you evidently realise, I am chauve.

Snow confirmed for the vast majority of Scotland Monday, much of Northern England Tuesday afternoon and a good sleeting for the rest on Wednesday/Thursday.

Gales expected in the South East as well later in the week

se faire couper les cheveux

Totally out of the question though I was given much stick by friends and rellys...during the 4 day English summer..
Still looking like a young Einstein ..sans moustache...
54 and still it grows like wildfire ..and vey little in the way of grey.
Guess I'm gonna do without the trim for a few more weeks yet ..
très froid atm ...and the one bit of my anatomy I try to keep warm and well protected ..is the 'old grey matter'...
The rest is pretty useless these days anyway..
;)

Over 10 years here and never visited a hairdressers/barbers. A long time ago during my prog rock period, (well 1974 actually) I had long hair and a full beard. (I still have a copy passport photo from then to remind me what hair looked like). The hair I have left gets trimmed myself. A baseball cap or wooly hat keeps the grey matter warm normally. When that very cold spell hit us, I went unshaven for a while and decided to keep the resulting growth in moustache and goatee form. It may last till I visit my Mum around August, it doesn't match my present passport photo (does anyone look like their's?) and she'll hate it.

BTW, returning to the topic LOL, it's a beautiful cloudless day here, which is making me feel guilty about re lighting the Rayburn. But then I look at the forecast and gain a modicum of reassurance that I made the right decision.
