Hi - Stejk

Not channels i normally view .... but just had a look here .... initially with 2.4 Channel master to overcome possible signal strength issues ... (i can only view the FTA channels) - all three transponders running smoothly .

So tried my luck with 1.2 Channel master and can receive them .. but with only a very small lock margin ... but again all view-able channels o.k. - no breakup or freezes ..

I,m viewing them with a DR HD F15 receiver .. and i,m just a little further north of you - about 25 miles inland from Lancaster .

What LNB are you using (assuming you have a matched CM feed on the dish) ?

From this site

8W is apparently showing some 6 degree off vertical, so unless a fixed universal LNB is skewed by the same amount, there will be co-channel interference from the - identical - opposite polarities.

On top of that you need to include the satellite's own skew offset, which for 8W is 3.5 degrees, the calculations are within the document below.

Hi
On the 2.4 i have the Invacom Quad C120 2- 4 lnb.jpg

On the c.m 1.2 i have a G.I. Twin universal - l.n.b.f.

Both systems are motorized .. and skew set at zero on both.

To be honest i was surprised to lock these transponders on a C.M. 1.2 this far north ... just had another look and the signal is up a fraction from this morning despite the poor weather here.
levels are pretty much the same on all 3 transponders

Thanks everyone. The problem isn't occuring tonight. I'll post some screenshots from crazy scans when it does again.

I'll have a look at the skew on my LNB luckily it's ground level so easy enough for me to mess about with.

Thanks Nelson. I used to use a Gibertini 1.25 here in Southport and similar to you the lock margin was OK but not great. Especially on 12604H which I found to be the weakest.

The official receivers are not as sensitive as my FTA recievers and TBS PC card which adds to the problems recieving the channels with such a small rain margin on the 125cm

The older Humax reciever definitely is more sensitive than the newer PVR Plus reciever and combined with the 1.5m dish I have now only the heaviest rain causes issues.

Could anyone have a look at the signal on these TPs again? Seems for me to have weakened in the last week compared to normal readings:

11012 H
11054 H
12604 H

First one particularly is weaker than it was.

Thanks Don. So 11012 does seem to be down on the others. For me much further North West of you (Southport, Merseyside), 12604H is by far the weakest and I get the following on a 1.5m dish

11012 H - 9.3db
11054 H - 10.0db
12604 H - 8.4db

I'm not sure if my LNB could be causing an issue though rather than any drop in signal. Previously 11012 and 11054 were both around 10db.

Hi
My result here tonight with 1.2 Channel master (25 miles East of Lancaster)

11012 H - 7.7 db
11054 H - 8.1 db
12604 H - 8.1 db

Raven mk2 zone 2 x4, Channel Master: 90cm x3, 1.2m x2, 1.8m PF. CM polar mount x2, Az/El x3.

South Durham
1.2M Channel Master NE England, cloud - no rain.

11012H - 7.6dB
11054H - 8.3dB
12605H - between no lock & 7.1dB

I think my LNB may be getting a bit hard of hearing at the upper frequencies.

Thanks @ozumo and @nelson_b

It's a strange one. Could just be atmospherics or related to something odd with the satellite.

Weirdly I get a better signal on 12604H with the dish at 8W but 11012H and 11054H are weaker until I move to about 7.5W (and pick up much of 7.3W as well)!

I'll continue to monitor it. Still 40% quality and very rare breakup on a BeIN Humax reciever during rain at 11pm (when signal is weaker) which is fine.

Better conditions this morning, 1.2M CM NE England, light cloud:
11012H - 8.3dB
11054H - 9.0dB
12605H - between 6.9 & 7.3dB solid picture

Hi - @Stejc
Just been having a look at this positioning effect that you mentioned ...... I,m not getting this with either the 1.2 .c.m. or with the larger 2.4 c.m. ? ..... puzzling - that you are getting this.

Yes it is strange. I've tried another LNB as well (although of the same type) and get the same. If I move the dish to centre on the highest signal on 12064H then 11012H and 11054H both suffer!

I'm using a Inverto PRO Twin Flange LNB C120 and Gibertini feedhorn.

Hi everyone !
Do you still received these frequencies ?
From south of France signal seems to be weaker, especially 11013 H and 11054 H
