Just arrived at the French gaff. We had absolutely no internet or phone when we were down last October and it took a 15 minute (twice postponed) visit by an engineer to find a duff joint on a pole up the lane. Fortunately a friend nearby was able to open the house up in case there was a fault there - which of course there wasn't.
This is the speed that we're now getting.

Back to normal.
Apparently there was a restriction put on the line. Probably because when the line break was fixed the new modem was not connected for long enough to confirm the line characteristics.
