A little chuckle this morning: I had just disposed of yesterday's mouse and sterilised the trap when my neighbour spotted me ...........

............ he said he was a tad peeved as he'd brought a tin into the house from his garage - A tin containing Bird Seed - in preparation for topping up the Feeders. He opened it and out popped two mice. They scuttled off somewhere within his kitchen.

"I must go and find a Mousetrap, says he"

................. and he has caught one.

Trouble is, I've got them back again too.

So I am taking the consensus advice and have set a trap laden with Sultanae.

Let's see how effective that is.

We've got a little dog called a Ratonera de Praga, or Prague Ratter. The trouble is is that she lives in the house with us, so we don't really fancy letting her loose outside where she would have a field day slaughtering mice and rats, and then possibly bringing all types of diseases in to us! Maybe we should get some more cats, and hope the Boxers don't get them!

i got rid of a family of mice living in my garage by using oaty breakfast bar as bait in the trap, once on holiday in france i went into the kitchen in the middle of the night naked to get a drink, when i put the light on there was a mouse sitting on worktop. i dont know who was most startled but i never saw it again. if the trap fails you could always try this technique, unless it was just me!!

My Sister's little Yorkie has kept her house in France pretty much devoid of mice and caught a few rats outside as well, most of these tiny dogs are great ratters.

Wife was lying on the bed yesterday afternoon watching TV (!!!!) and she reckons we have a mouse as she heard some scratching noises in one of the corners. I've now put a mousetrap down (Litle Nipper of course!) and will wait.

I'm sure it's this thread that has encouraged them to come into the house...

I no longer am wearing my coat as my Oil Delivery arrived mid-morning:

I checked the dreaded HeatingOil.co.uk Site (The association that was scandalised in recent years for massively putting up prices in cold snaps) and they quoted 72p; I rang a couple of local suppliers direct and they were 66p; But I found a proper comparison site that gave me 60p per litre on 5 day delivery.

And it took 2 working days only.

So at least 10%, possibly 20% saving on the sharks.

I commend it to the house

Got one of the little buggars.

I set about last night to find out why neither my wife nor I could print anything. I did all the obvious things: turning the printer/computers/modem on and off but to no avail. It's a hard wored network printer and so I eventually accessed the modem to check network names and it wasn't there. Neither was the HDR or Slingbox, which also hard wired in. They all go into a little network switch as there's only a single cable into the living room and this was the clue.

Well, to cut the story short, after initially blaming my wife for disturbing things I discovered that the power supply cable had been nibbled through. I set the trap (a Little Nipper of course!) before going to bed and there was a result this morning.

The strange thing was that we hadn't noticed anything before this. I'll set it again tonight to see if there are any more.
