It won't be worth the expense to look at 65West - extended range lnbf needed that covers 4.5 to 4.8GHz plus a larger dish.... i'm only just pulling in enough channel signal dB's on my 2.2 PF Cband system tuned to a knat's whisker of it's life. There's not much feed activity, hardly any, if at all.... and no signals seen in the normal 3.4 to 4.2GHz.
40.5 West Extended is about the same as well re: extended frequency channels.
Ok mate. Thanks.

I get 17 transponders on 65w from my location in the southern United States. Transponder 4555V seems to be the strongest of the bunch. Transponder 4555V has two video channels that are usually in English. There are some good movies on this transponder. The rest of the channels are either scrambled or are in Portugese which I cannot understand.

The extended transponders on 61w might be a bit easier to get, but most of the programming will be in Portugese.

I can't find any dedicated page that just has a list of C-band Extended frequency satellites but the main two for domestic video content for me in the UK are 40.5W and 65W.
Lyngsat pages that show Extended C-band frequencies look like this as in pictures and the extended frequencies carry on from the highest last listed 'normal' Cband frequency ie: 4.2 GHz - as you can see, there are no Cband frequencies listed for 61West Lyngsat 61 West. No C-band listed..JPG65West. with extended C-band..JPG

Possibly not reported on Lyngsat by any DX Men.
The satellite sites like Lygnsat and Flysat are only as good as the users who upload info.

The same issue of missing frequencies also applies to some of the extreme East satellites such as 152E and 160E, these have more frequencies on them than are listed on Lyngsat.

Yep good point MB.... usually when i move from say 47.5W or 55W up to 65West iv'e got the Promax running on full scan display but can't ever remember seeing any Extended C-band signal spikes from 61W showing as i went past it to 65W - i'm double checking now :)

@John

The 61W C-Band beam covers the Americas.
I think that @el bandido is based over that way so will receive beam footprints that are probably not available to UK DX Men?

The other forum member who should be able to check 61.0W for extended C-Band is @frankviana I think he is located in Brazil and has a reet good set of dishes to check with.
Also, there is a member on Edgar's gaff who regularly posts feed details who is based in Paraguay, he might be able to check if he has an appropriate LNB?

hey @John - does that mean i should be able to get some stuff at 65w - that HAS to be at the end of my range - but will try if so....deffo need to move jack to other side at this rate

To get the frequencies on 65.5W between 4.5-4.8 GHz you will need an LNB that can cover that range.

Can a normal C-band lnb be changed to this frequency (4.5-4.8 Ghz)

Cos of the 5g interference I get ...no? What lnb do I need for this range ?

You are getting 5G interference down in the 3400 - 3700 MHz range.
I dont see why this will interfere up in the 4500 to 4800 MHz range so you should not need a 5G filtering LNB.
There are also extended C-Band frequencies on 40.5W that are receivable at a UK location.

You need one of these Chinese bad boys pictured below or any alternative LNB that covers that range.
The LNB pictured below is the mini block WR229 flange type, it needs a cheepo Chinese horn pipe to bolt onto.

I got a box full of these Chinese bad boys for sale at huge wad, no bargains 'ere.

I think that there are also extended C-Band LNBF's available that you shove into a polo pipe or clamp directly into a feed holder.

In order to first get an idea of anything extended with your existing system, get a cheap terrestrial analyser and slave it onto the passive output (many two way splitters will kill off the DC on one side) of your current LNB.

Look for any spikes of reasonable levels between 350 and 650MHz as you scan around the arc.
