12012V (STV HD) has had most of the encrypted channels removed. Its possible that this tp will be changed over to the UK beam so 2 more STV can go clear again. If the third sub region moves onto 12012 from 12090 then its more of a clue this is going to happen.

The recent news that the BBC will progressively close down the SD services on satellite over the next year is bad news for some viewers in extreme fringe areas where BBC HD reception is unreliable.

10818V is expected to be the first DVB-S SD frequency cleared, and this will be in the next few weeks. It will then be reconfigured to DVB-S2 8PSK with HD services launching onto it. The other SD tp's will be then be done one after another.

Temporary none regional replacement SD services will be provided - currently they are on 12422H. These will be closed by April 2024 though.

Can you give me information about the reception of the sky UK beam in your place in England. Which antenna size is sufficient for reception of the complete 28.2E satellite, i.e. Astra 2E, astra2F and astra 2G. From my geographical area, Slovenia is possible with large 2.4 antennas m and get more, but not 24 hours. There are noticeable fluctuations in the signal throughout the day, time of year.

A 45cm "zone 1" dish is sufficient almost anywhere in the UK. In the past a 60cm "zone 2" dish was recommended for the west & north but the new satellites put stronger beams across the UK.

Im in southern Scotland about 35 miles south of Edinburgh. Im using a 60 cm "zone 2" dish & its absolutely fine.

Today I played a little with my gibertini 150 and got good reception in good conditions. It's a pity that I don't have a 1.8m antenna on the tower at the moment. However, I'm very satisfied with the result on the gibertini 150. Location Sevnica - Slovenia.
