Do Capita/TVLicensing send their monkeys out to these 'fringe' areas, or do they only deal with the low hanging fruit ?The recent news that the BBC will progressively close down the SD services on satellite over the next year is bad news for some viewers in extreme fringe areas where BBC HD reception is unreliable.
10818V is expected to be the first DVB-S SD frequency cleared, and this will be in the next few weeks. It will then be reconfigured to DVB-S2 8PSK with HD services launching onto it. The other SD tp's will be then be done one after another.
Temporary none regional replacement SD services will be provided - currently they are on 12422H. These will be closed by April 2024 though.
