A special from Iceland this year:
A live stream direct from Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik will be broadcast on New Year’s Eve to allow viewers to experience New Year’s Eve in Iceland from anywhere in the world. The Icelandic telecommunications company running the live stream, Mila, will get viewers the opportunity to see Reykjavik light up at the stroke of midnight, when hundreds of fireworks illuminate the city’s skyline, turning day to night. Those watching will get to experience the exploding rockets and dancing lights sparkle and shimmer as it happens. For an idea of what to expect, watch last year’s celebrations.
Mila also maintains other spectacular webcams, which are spread out across Iceland via its website. These locations include the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss, Jokulsarlon, Geysir, Katla, Hekla, Eyjafjallajokull, Akureyri and Austurvollur in Reykjavik, and can be viewed live, 24/7.
To experience the live streaming as it happens, tune in on 31 December via
