Morning everybody, sorry I've rolled up a bit late. I left setting up my Chasing Midnight "receiving station" till the last minute ( = this morning!) I've been so busy!
I watched NZ on Euronews in the end, I can't lock APTN Charlie either. On my 88cms motorised dish, ECHO is strong (when N Korea was showing in recent days), and UP10Foxtrot is at breakup threshold with the APTN London MCR colourbars.
I had no problem with 10E last year so I would say the power was definitely down this time. The overcast weather here in West Sussex probably didn't help either!
If anybody is interested, I'm using the Technomate TM-6900 HD Super Combo with the 88cms dish (53E - 37.5W), a fixed 70cms eliptical dish with monoblock for 19E / 13E with a Technomate TM-5400 CI+, and a Labgear "£60 cheapo kit from screwfix last month" connected to an old Sky dish for 28E.
All receivers have USB sticks in them for recording video. The TM-5400 has some naughty third party software on it which allegedly makes TV Globo (13E) and the state broadcasters for Norway, Denmark and Sweden (4.8E) visible. Purely for chasing midnight purposes you understand. And yes, hand on heart, that's actually true! :-)
I'll do some screen grabs and add them to a publicly-viewable photo album on FB tomorrow.
Have fun chasing midnight, good luck, best wishes to everyone, and many thanks for all the info that will appear on here today!
Scholl!
Ed.
