I'm really enjoying Simon & Garfunkel who are on 3Sat at the moment. Shame that 'Pop Around The Clock' and Chasing Midnight happen at the same time! Never mind, I know 3Sat does it on another occasion during the year.

And yes, I agree about the Chinese and fireworks! I was watching MAC TV on Telstar 12, and the fireworks shooting out of Taipei 101 were a sight to behold.

Since VTV4 and Thai Global Network is on same transponder, any suggestions where to put my motorised dish other than APTN Charlie?

VTV4 from Vietnam appears to have a live program of some sort at least for now... nothing festive apparently, just talk... but there is this text "trực tiếp"(Vietnamese for "Direct") below their DOG. Thai Global Network showing some sort of a religious event, not sure if it is live. Both are on Hotbird at 13°E

MRTV Myanmar is still on air which is unusual for this time of night as well.

Output as dull as VTV4 & TGN tho!!

It looks like TGN and VTV are following the same format as last year.

And the diabolical bit rates have not changed. Still on 1.5MBits - amazingly bad! H.264 would be great at that picture size and bit rate though.
