It looks like TGN and VTV are following the same format as last year.

And the diabolical bit rates have not changed. Still on 1.5MBits - amazingly bad! H.264 would be great at that picture size and bit rate though.

Same procedure as every year bitrate wise! It has been this bad as long as I remember. But yeah... Thailand looks promising.

VTV4 is live... and the New Year just arrived... shortly before midnight "Imagine" was sung in the background... And now time for a rendition of ABBA's Happy New Year...

TGN showing a prayer, all on screen graphics disappeared around 10 minutes ago.

News 7 is the wonders of Soviet Medicine circa 1956 ish while CaspioNet has some report.

Armenia TV and Shant TV are already running their variety programmes, as is AZTV. The corny soviet style president and flag graphics are on Lider and AZTV - big brother is watching!

Last year there were shots of celebrations in Yerevan on the Armenian channels vs the usual boring speech on AZTV & Lider.

They have just shown a few Snow Maidens with Grandfather Frost on Khabar / CaspioNet, an improvement on the last few years when she appeared on New Years Day reports. Progress.
