And they cut the broadcast off right from middle of the national song (I assume? )

Yeah, news agency they used bailed out of the transmission, one could even see News Agency caption describing what was just fed.

I think this is in the meaning that outlets within the country need to license the feed directly from the source broadcaster instead of wire or that the source broadcaster might be having exclusivity inside that country(of course KCTV has more exclusivity than state broadcasters in most countries :D). I could be wrong though. But I often see these restrictions on feeds.

CCTV's channels are a total washout. Looks like they are saving their galas for the Lunar new year again..
