On Sharqiya, they sang into the midnight without a countdown, and then acknowledged the New Year has arrived. The initial news item on Al-Iraqiya News noted the cancellation of celebrations in all of Iraq due to the COVID-19. So, next time zone is mine, will probably set my set top box to record Egyptian TV while I myself am outside(for the record, I live in a farm half(well, 45%) the size of Vatican in a village of 39 residents) watching distant fireworks.
