Some progress with the hardware .
With thanks to Mike Berg ... N0QBH i have used his zero detector to build a diseqc pickup for decoding the signal and decode it into my cortex environment. I have build the zero detector into a old housing off a antenuator .
diseqc01.jpg
Before closing it again.
diseqc02.jpg
Here ready and connected between the v-box and and the receiver.
I have also baked a pic for monitor the pickup with a display .
diseqc03.jpg
The pickup is working perfect with cables off 2-4 metres.
The only part to build is a signal meter with a voltage output.

Maybe there are already people who have build such a universal signal meter. It would be nice to design something that's detecting any receiving signal from a satellite (analog and digital) without the needed of a complicated receiver / amplifier chip..

will be continued..

Some progress with the disecq decoder

Thanks for the effort Llew.
This day i have received the complete diagram of the sr8700 (including the power supply) from a old echostar employee .
So if some people would like tho have a copy please send me a pm
That's quite a find by you harm - rare to get any Echostar service info these days, even though (or perhaps because) it's ancient stuff. Kudos to you :)
I'll PM.

I have completed and justified the algorithm for the positioner software en also put it into c++ for a cortex processor. But the code uses a lot off mathematical functionality / processor power. Maybe it is better to generate a lookup table indexed in count pulses during power up off the positioner. In that way a (cheaper) M0+ cortex processor can do the job.

For people who like math , i can send the mathlab code to generate the code and this animated plot (gif) for your dish situation.
You wil need a mathlab/simulink software installed.

I have converted the file to a zip file in the attachment. Accepting gifs with the same size as a jpg can give the forum more movement.

Why did you, instead of using one straight blue line, make this a blue line with a fixed angle in it?
I cannot think of a reason or a function for that, in the calculation.

I assume the blue line represents what I call the TopBolt of the actuator (on the dish) to the rotation axis on the mount (your blue/black dot in the gif-file).

OK, harm,
I hope you will get better!
And when you have something to report, I'll be glad to read it.
No hurrys, though! It's just that I sometimes wonder what is happening, when there is no message anymore...
