The X2 has taken place of the skybox F3s today, after testing between the two boxes the X2 wins hands down :-)

More here on the X2 looks like it has the same software as the SpiderboxHD6000 menu's are identical
just the box build is different.

Tuner Sensitivity from my own tests over the last 12 months starting with the best @ No1

1/TM5502HD / TM5302HD
2/TM3/5 HD / TM5402HD M3
3/TM6900HD Super+
3/Spiderbox HD9000 / HD9900
5/TM5402HD M1 / TM5402HD M2
6/DrHD D15
7/SpiderboxHD6000
8/Blade 7000s
9/AZBox Premium+ /AZBox Elite

I have never tried the DrHD F16 as I could never get hold of one.

That's interesting given the post from Serafein:
Dr HD f15, technomate 5402 m1, clarke tech 3100 hd > same tuner.
Dr HD d15, technomate f3/5, technomate 5402 m3, clarke tech 4100 hd > same tuner

From the list, I have only used the TM-f3/5 and it is (was) good in terms of fringe reception (better than my Humax) till it went tits-up after 8 months. Hence I'm looking for a replacement.

So from these few posts here (and others elsewhere) - it appears to me that their is no really concise objective result as to which receiver has the best (sensitive) tuner for fringe reception.

I doubt that TM5402HD M3 tuner sensitivity Is better than TM5402HD M1 / Dr HD F15
there are posts proving that In fact It Is opposite
that Is why people that posting lists would be better to post shots from compared machines

Having owned most in those lists and tested them side by side i have to agree with samaloko that the best of the best is the DrHD F15 without a shadow of a doubt

I was under the impression it's no longer in production and has been replaced by the D15 which is now made in China (presumably cheaper to make there). The F15s on sale are old stock?

Also very generally speaking, Technomate seems to be aimed at the UK market, Clarke Tech at Germany, and DrHD at Russia.

Haven't Dr.HD's always been made there?

I would agree. And possibly, like LNB's, it depends on your global location and system (dish size etc) .... ? I'm not certain.

But if the DR.HD F15 (now on order) does give me a small edge on my now defunct TM F3/5 (because that was pretty good here) then I will be well pleased. I'll let you all know in about 4 weeks time.

Tuner sensitivity on the d15 is pathetic in comparison to the tm 5402 m3. I had the d15 for 2 weeks before I sold it to my neighbour who also did not like it all. The d15 could not open many tp that just regular cheapo receivers could.

F15, 5402M1, Blade7000s. Quad Plus is the same as the Solo2 same Broadcom Chipset and Tuners as with any Linux E2 receiver tuner sensitivity is Driver dependant

I would say that would be Patch dependant also as i tested both the D15 side by side with the f3/5 and both faired the same CRAP!

Never got the chance to test the f3/5 but the f15 is up there with the best of them, I cannot understand what the train of thought was with d15 as it was one of the poorest that I have ever tested even those cheapo Chinese alichip models were more sensitive.

More than likely due to Cost restraints with the economic climate so shift production from Korea to China use cheaper components add a few features such as Youtube, Picasa, IPTV capability and sell it to Joe public as the next best thing but at a cheaper price

Hmmmm, crap is a strong word on it's own. Compared to my Humax my f3/5 is (was) slightly better. Then again, you may consider the performance of my Humax to be 'crap' :).
