So excited now!!
I'm aware of that, but it's still exciting and looking forward to receiving any signals from it, plenty of time to start working on projects for it tooThe amatuer tv payloads wont be activated until after the commercial payloads have started in service. Its likely to be early next year before they go on air.
I've been testing a PLL LNB, trying to keep it quiet as they are dirt cheap and once everyone knows they will sell out, can discuss it on PM though. What's required for the 3CM TV downlink? I see the Octagon optima PLL LNB is recommended with good performance at 10.5GHz but what modifications or tricks are required to get a sat tuner to receive that low?
The Octagon OSLO with 25MHz xtal works Ok down to 10.368GHz with some roll off with ~1.6dB NF vs 1dB >10.7G (real dB not marketing ones). It's easy to feed an external 25MHz ref, a search should find links. For TV, a TBS6983/6903 etc will go down to 250MHz, just modify streamreader.ini An Inverto Ka LNB Band B To Band A Mod - SatsUKWhat's required for the 3CM TV downlink? The later OSLO's are 27MHz and the price is going up on those alone. The Octagon OSLO with 25MHz xtal works Ok down to 10.368GHz with some roll off with ~1.6dB NF vs 1dB >10.7G (real dB not marketing ones). You only need to change IF start/stop, my other changes were for Ka & X bands.
Sorry made a typo on this and edit timed out, the latest OSLO are 25MHz, some are 27MHz its pot luck what you get and some might not even be PLL.The later OSLO's are 27MHz and the price is going up on those alone.
Interesting regarding the TBS devices.
I wonder what the lowest most E2 boxes will tune down to.
