So it looks like the Italian multistreams will have their new home on the Italian beam of 9°E (otherwise pretty unused, which does make you wonder why they used 5°W in the beginning considering they’ve ended up having a restricted France/Italy beam for 5WB ).
Some posters on some of the French forums linked to from that French post/thread seem to think that everything except for Fransat will move from 5°W, but I struggle to believe that the French multistreams will be moved off - there’s only two transponders of them unlike the fairly large selection of Italian ones!
I wonder if the 5WB beam will be skewed in a way that’s any more favourable to those of us in Northern Europe, considering the southern part of the “Transalpine” area won’t have any services targeting it!
