Hi.

I am trying to setup a dish to get AM6 53 degrees E in Stockholm.
The dish is 1 m.

I have plenty of experience setting up dishes for hotbird 13 and astra 19 degrees east etc.. But never touched anything so far esat.
I have one of those cheap tools that beeps when getting a signal.. But with this dish and setup it feels like I've got something totally wrong.
I get a quite high pitch tone even if I point the dish to the ground.. Tried 2 different LNB's with same result.
Only thing I can think of is the symbol rate which is often 25000 on other satellites but just 14180 on this one..

I have a vu zero and I used this tp while trying to aim the dish:
12575 H,
DVB-S2
8PSK
14180
3/4

T2-MI
PLP 0

I hope someone can get me some suggestions what could be the problem..

AM6 is a damaged satellite. The C-band must have been completely turned off by now. The calculated coverage corresponds to the state after the launch of the satellite and not now when it has a lack of energy.

In my area with a 1.5m antenna, I receive mux T2-MI,12575 H,14179,3/4,8PSK, and others, on 53.0E
I must say that during the day, the signal varies in the upper band from very good on Vertical, and on the Horizontal, it is at the limit. When the weather worsens, it is below the threshold.
When I get the antenna on 53.0E, I'll do signal tests at this position. Here's what the upper-band signal looks like this March.

Thanks for your replies guys, really helpful. What do you think about "north beam" on Yamal 402 55 E instead? For example tp 12694 vertical.. Should be easier to get with my setup?
Lyngsat doesn't provide any foot print map for it..

In 2020 they had to turn off the entire Ka band, now they are turning off the C band, even on Russian forums they complain that the reception from 53E is unstable in Ku :N

OK.. You are in Romania right? Eastern or western? Should make a huge difference if the proportions on the lyngsat map is still correct.

I'm glad I gave you hope. But since you are in Northern Europe, you will need an antenna of; I don't know what size, but at least around 2.0m; no matter what it is, you will need a sensitive tuner and a good antenna tuning.
I feel entitled to encourage you, given that my area, in the western part of Romania, is outside the satellite beam(#1). And despite my location, I still use a relatively small antenna that helps me receive Ku band beams in my area.

T2-MI transponders are more accessible from 54.9E to the reception in my area than those at 53.0E. The vertical signal is more stable, which favors a better and more reliable reception,
The two PLP 0 and 1 on 12694 V,15282,34,8PSK, PLP 0 and 1 were received in my area with Crazyscan and neumoDVB.

OK. Thanks for all your detailed information.. I will keep trying tomorrow..
By the way, is there any problem to receive those T2-MI tp's with a regular linux based sat receiver?

You wont get them unless the receiver is designed for T2MI

Hi.

I am trying to setup a dish to get AM6 53 degrees E in Stockholm.
The dish is 1 m.

I have a vu zero

T2-MI

I am not sure if your receiver Vu+ Zero will work with T2-MI.
I watch Russian channels from 14°W in Belgium and from Internet in HD.
If you understand Russian you will find how to watch by searching here:
dzen.ru
I haven't tried adding a converter for 53°E, it is out of interest for me.

I have a Dreambox 920 UHD that I haven't used in a long time. I don't know which of the images can scan T2-MI muxes.
I will look into it, and if possible, do tests with such muxes.

T2-MI direct scanning has few Linux receivers (eg. Octagon, Edision).
If the Linux receiver (eg. Dreambox) displays only the data channel for T2-MI transponder, it is necessary to use the astra-sm utility.
