Unfortunately it seems it is Radio 5 Live or watching on-line tomorrow

Not quite - just spotted n-tv (19.2E) will be covering the last hour of the 2nd session live tomorrow but, as always with them, it'll be subject to breaks and news bulletins.

Great, thanks: n-TV certainly used to cover practice sessions a few years ago, but so much has changed. For the worse!

Don't mind interruptions as two 90 min sessions can get a bit tedious on the Fridays - all oner wants is a flavour of what's occurring.

The n-tv Practice 2 coverage is fine.

It is billed as a special, but I have seen it suggested that they might show more Practice Sessions over the rest of the Season.

(Non-attributable, with a 6/10 estimated confidence level)

Weird.

Why watch it delayed when you can watch RTL or TF1?

That said, I watched Practice 3 delayed on RTL and it was really dreadful - a bitty and compressed programme where you missed most of the decent laps and one of the Advert breaks lasted EIGHT MINUTES!

Agreed, but I was out and my RTL recording had failed, so I got impatient. Should have waited the extra 3/4 hour for the BBC highlights

Having watched the BBC coverage last week in China I have to say I thought the commentary coverage is rather weak this year. They havent really filled Martin Brundle's role very well & the Jake / EJ / David clowning around on their walkabout with the suits etc before the race was painful to watch.

Also worth adding, it appears good old Rai Sport 1 and 2 are showing GP2 races live this season :D

This afternoon's feature race was live on Rai Sport 2, Sunday's feature race is live on Rai Sport 1 from 8.45am UK time.

Both channels are, of course, FTA on Hotbird ;)

On Planet F12, I referred to them as Bill & Ben The Flowerpot Men and their friend Weed.

Hell of a long build-up prog. on RTL ............... started at 11.45 UK time.

At least Niki Lauda wears sensible shirts.

Yes, missing out on that and will join the coverage about 10 mins before the race starts. Niki seems dour compared to EJ (and appears to have a sizeable belt overhang) Both he and Florian are more earnest than the BBC triumvirate and distinctly lacking in any sense of humour. Unless my lack of German is missing some rapier like wit....

From next season, Tivusat/RAI will be out of the equation for full coverage - Italy has gone down the same route as the UK & Sky Italia will be showing all the races live with a national fta channel only taking 9, with the rest on a delay.

Well you've just saved me a ton or two.

No real need to get a TivùSat Card now.

It is a massive shame that has happened but I feel that the future of F1 will lie in pay-TV. F1 will become even more of a minority sport than it is, and this will be a big shame.

Couldn't agree more.

So much for Bernie's protestations that F1 would always be FTA.

Lies like a hairy egg.

If the English language commentary from say BBC 5live is grossly out of sync with the German satellite video...... and you REALLY find it annoying you could try time shifting and/or DAB ReVu the audio.
