If the English language commentary from say BBC 5live is grossly out of sync with the German satellite video...... and you REALLY find it annoying you could try time shifting and/or DAB ReVu the audio.

Well, I've just learned to live with the German commentary, after all I think we can interpret the race for ourselves as it unfolds and with the aid of the OSG. The only time it falls down is when a car retires without a visually obvious problem and you want to know why (especially if it's in your fantasy league team!). A bit OT but can the rest of the F1 teams please follow the example of Ferrari, Williams and Sauber and bring back numbers on their cars? My helmet colour/design recognition isn't what it used to be (even if they don't change the design every blinking race).

I speak English (mother language) and German, the time shifting idea just occurred to me out of the blue. But the idea might come in handy if there was ever an English commentary on an French, Italian Etc. event.

FWIW, yesterday the Radio 5 Live online only commentary was behind the TV pictures (by quite a margin too). That is relatively easy to fix with a PVR or DVB card by just timeshifting.

I assume (a) that you'll still be 'en France' for the next GP and (b) that 'chez vous' in Normandy has UK tv?.....If not, tickets to watch here are very reasonably priced and include hot drinks and choccy biscuits.

Actually, I don't know if we have UK TV! But, yes, the European Race is the first of our weekends there.

Normally, having TV on hol isn't something we consider, but last year we were lucky enough to catch this same Race in Murcia, courtesy of t'Red Button (!!!) and we were both (Yes, even SWMBO got excited) up until after midnight watching JB frighten Fettle of the track.

Not sure how the days will pan out, but PM me your dog 'n bone and I'll submit your kind idea to SWMBO. She seems more enthused with the prospect of Camembert Cheese and Calvados than anything else right now!

Yes, congrats to Lewis and well done to both Perez and 'Bigjohn' for their podium places. I've had it with Herr Cobbler so I can see a clear out in one of my teams is on it's way.

BTW, I found the adverts on RTL particularly long, tedious and ill timed today (maybe that was because they seemed to be solely for beer and had triumphal German soccer themes).

Can't imagine a gite over here without UK tv but will nevertheless PM my number over. Camembert and Calvados can be substituted for tea and biscuits for a small supplemental charge....(FYI, Calvados can be drunk between courses at dinner _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandy#Food_and_drink)

Looks like the free route via TF1 France will cease after the end of this season. Canal+ have bid much higher than TF1 for the rights and BeIn Sports are also trying to get the coverage.

So we are left with RTL.

Isn't it the Germans who want to bang Bernie up?!

There's an irony.

ORF might be a suitable route as well - its encrypted but easily opened on many boxes.
