Martin Brundle takes over a main commentator with David Coulthard becoming the second man.

So, any ideas who will be the third person for the 'informed comment' bit pre and post GP? Surely they can't find someone as bad as EJ? Or with a worse selection of shirts?

I just hope EJ he has had botox injections under his armpits over the winter to stop him sweating like a menopausal woman, if he is going to carry on talking crap for the 2011 season

EJ will be principal analyst: From Wotsat

The BBC's coverage is being further shaken up for 2011 with the departure of Jonathan Legard, who will be replaced in the commentary box by David Coulthard alongside Martin Brundle.

Eddie Jordan will become the BBC's principal F1 analyst, alongside anchorman Jake Humphreys. Lee McKenzie and Ted Kravitz will be once again in place as reporters.

That's truly excellent news: The Upscaled SD we saw was a vast improvement and this should be better yet.

Triffic!

Thank you!

Having read a bit more about the changes in the BBC F1 commentary team, it seems DC will be sharing his time between pre and post race 'waffle' (Jake Humphrey's words, not mine) and commentary with Martin Brundle. Which, at times, only leaves one person to fend off the verbal meanderings of Eddie Jordan. Looks to me like the BBC have used this as an opportunity to reduce their wage bill. Though for the life of me, I can't understand why EJ didn't get the chop too. Maybe they could bring in a selection of test drivers as 'guest pundits'. After all their weekend effectively finishes on a Friday.

I'm in with 'Creatures'.

Thanks for taking up the league management :)

EDIT: I just noticed the new action - 'Partner team for the Constructors Championship'. Any rules for that in the league?

Maybe you already have noticed the small [C] button right beside the [Edit team] button on the 'My Teams' page. The [C] button leads to a page where you are able to find a partner team for the Constructors Championship, which is available in your league when you have 24 members.

A 'Constructor' consists of 2 teams (from 2 different team owner). 12 Constructors compete in the Championship. The Constructors score is the sum of the points taken from both partner teams. You and your partner take part as a 'Constructor' in the Constructors Championship in your league.

I think this feature is able to bring more excitement into your competition.

Aren't you (personally) able to join these due to the exhaulted position you obtained last year? BTW, if we get to the point where we can form teams for a constructors championship, I hearby stake my claim to teaming up with Topper LOL. (Well, we were first and second)

You won your league and your National Championship last season. That's why you are qualified for the PFF1 Champions Racing League and the PFF1 Cup. These are two of the official leagues (to find: PFF1.net Main Menu: [Leagues] -> on top of the page 'Official PFF1 Leagues').

PFF1 Champions Racing League:
Only Champions (League-, National- and World Champions) are qualified. It is a very competitive bonus league.

PFF1 Cup:
This is a very special official league. The best 160 teams after race 5 are qualified for the group stage. The teams are split up in 16 groups of ten. From race 6 to 14 an all-play-all tournament (9 rounds) takes place. The ranking within the groups is according to the number of match-up victories. The group leaders after race 14 are qualified for the 1/16-finals and get a free round in race 15. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the groups compete for the remaining 16 places in the Wildcard round. The 48 teams play-off starts after race 14 with the Wildcard round.

I recommend to join both of the two bonus leagues (My Teams page: [Create new team] buttons in the bonus teams section). You won't have the chance to compete in these leagues every year. :)

Ok thanks for the explanation Maverick, I had assumed it was because of my success last year but have never been to such dizzy heights before so was unsure, do the componants of these teams have to be different?

You already are able to form teams for the constructors championship: My Teams page -> [C] -> [Submit offer] to a team owner or accept / decline an offer from another team owner.

You are able to own 2 identical teams. A 3rd team have to differ in at least one component (3rd driver doesn't count as difference).
If you decide to manage just 2 teams, I recommend to join the PFF1 Cup.
