But it looks like possibly no Seb at AM next year if he decides to bail out to Indycar (being somewhat "disappointed" with their performance , especially given the cash he's put into the team over the last 2 years!)?

Vettel put money in? If the rumour is correct that only Stroll will get the new car then that's something else for Seb to be disappointed about.

Those Indycars are really fast these days, look at the average speed set by Colton Herta in practice just now :-ohmy

It was widely reported that he put £20m into the team as part of the signing deal at the beginning of the 2021 season!

It's the first I've heard of it. After a quick look all I can find is it might be how much less Aston Martin is paying him compared to what he got at Ferrari :confused

This is already a farce. Fixing it for Leclerc.

That was ultra dull. If Monaco disappears off the calender Im not going to shed any tears for it. Horrible to see the shattered Haas though - the impact didnt look big enough to snap a car in half.

"Not Quite!" :-rofl2
They tried their best though ;) Race should have started at 2pm as scheduled. They all have weather radar so if they started on the wrong tyres that'd be their decision and their loss to those who gambled.

Boring racing as per usual. As spectacular as qualifying is, I'd be more than happy to not have to sit through another Monaco GP.

Was also surprised to see the Haas split in two :-ohmy

Much as I was taking the Mick yesterday, I do have to agree that most of the race was pretty dull - which is why I had the BTC (British Touring Car) championship at Thruxton on the other recording channel on the Sky box!

That, and the support races, were anything but dull with lots of "door banging", multiple cars sideways into corners &/or off on the grass and so on, - made an interesting contrast when things were/got boring "down South":D

Mono TV on 52E was pirating Sky Sports F1 UK for today's race - superb  makes a change from German & Italian commentary
:-rofl2

Probably a GOOD job there was no Italian commentary - too much "boom bang a bang" engine-wise from the Ferrari motors :-rofl2

And, again, there was a lot more "action" on AND off the track (on the grass!) - and a mobile Kwikfit banner on the front of one of the cars! - from the BTCC races at Oulton Park this afternoon (ITV1 and then ITV4) :D

Also in F2 some awful driving by Nissany almost ended with his block getting knocked off :-ohmy

Yes, it certainly did as he skidded and bounced across the gravel - OTOH, IIRC, it appears to have broken away before the car hit the edge of the service road and then flipped up and hit the crowd protection fence. TG, the car hit the fence bottom-first, and Zhou Guanyu came out relatively unhurt. Nevertheless, it does appear to work almost all the time.

On a less "factual" thought, whose bets got the final result roughly correct?

BTW: looks like Ferrari was again a "bit slow on the uptake" after the 2nd Safety Car was called! - where have I heard that before, because the final result might have been a bit different if they'd been a bit sharper??

The halo looks intact in the photo I posted :confused

As for Ferrari if they pitted Leclerc at worst he would have come out in second behind Lewis with Sainz third, with the pair of them on fresh tyres & Lewis on older hards. Poor strategy all race from the red team.

For the podium I did pick Hamilton to finish 3rd in the 'expert' tips section of PFRL, though I had Verstappen 1st & Leclerc 2nd :-doh

Rumours say Ricciardo is off to Indycar next year, possibly replaced by reigning Indycar champion Alex Palou.

Chip Ganassi Racing announced Palou would remain with them next year... Palou said err no I've joined McLaren and tagged McLaren F1 in his tweet. Seems like won't be driving for Ganassi for the rest of this season.
