I switched all the browser addons off. It made no difference.

EDIT - with No script you can get risd of a lot of those "switch your adblocker off" messages anyway - its just a bit of java script running in the background. If I cant get around the message I go elsewhere.
Tbh those ads help the site provider maintain the server and associated costs. After all the site is subscription free and clearly very useful to many so they need to raise funds from some source.

Anyway I assume you’ve tried all the suggestions above and still haven’t resolved your issue. Other than connecting to an alternative IP provider using a different browser or device to access that site there’s little else I can suggest. Clearly your browser doesn’t like what it’s accessing and will not resolve the that URL.

Ads are a prime way of spreadng malware, and on an older system on slow broadband can significantly impact the speed of browsing. In the old house I was finding some sites were taking 6 or 7 seconds per page to load. It turned out the slowness was caused by dozens of remote scripts being exectuted - mainly to serve adverts. Plus Youtube got almost unwatchable with multiple pre roll adverts, then mid roll adverts were the last straw. At that point I went nuclear in the war against ads. There are very very few sites I allow adverts onto nowadays - this forum being one of them. The ad slingers have screwed themselves over with their greed - stuff them.

Entirely agree.

My F1 Forum (and I've done Mod work there) is all but unusable even on fast connections owing to the sheer amount of marketing material. Many users have just given up. Must be helping Site revenue no end!

I was an early adopter of Prestel and some sites had a pay-to-view model which, in retrospect, was a worthy idea. Of course, many phone Apps offer ad-free usage if one pays a modest premium. That's fair enough.

I know we are getting a little off topic here but no-script gives some fascinating insights into the ad funding of some sites - as well as the tracking the sites use too. Ive seen some big UK based sites with over 40 different scripts running in the background - over 50% of which are just to load adverts.

Sounds like you guys have it worked out between you so.

Don’t have any issues accessing Flysat here. 1Gb connection and ads causing no issues. No VPN to hide behind either. Problem affects some and not others. Ah well back to viewing so.

Their host, some kind of strange DNS problems?

Started making an inventory, lol+++ how the heck did I end up with all this ?? Available providers I sometimes switch between: fixed, mobile router (it's own sim), 2 national (N) + 2 international (F) mobile data \ hotspot. & using vpn\tor now and then. For 3 phones \ 4 pc's & laptops.

Seen Flysat come and go randomly whatever connection was in use. Now back alive on the 'daily' connection, from which it timed out a few hours ago, very unusual behaviour. Flysat is good, most useful.
