All fixed up for C band now, I ordered an extra conical scalar for the other LNB :) I cant believe the size of them , I am going to have to reinforce the dish arms when I do the mod on them.

I have a CS1 scalar now to go with my C-band LNB. However, as I'm sure you've noticed there are no instructions in the box! I have a couple of questions which hopefully somebody can answer :

  1. What f/D marker setting do I use when attaching the scalar? Does the scalar go right at the end of the LNB or do I mount it further up?
  2. The scalar appears to slope in one direction - does the scalar have to be mounted in a particular direction (ie: which way is up?). I can't see any 'top' marker.

I've still not received any C-band signal yet (tried at 5W) - but that's probably because I've not attached the scalar correctly...

I was told to mount the scaler ring 20mm down. As the drops on the scaler ring is 20mm each step.

The position of the plate is critical.

I find I get the most from it being fully in.

Hi, all I've been doing is reading up and finding videos and looking at peoples setups, from what I can make out 20E is an easy catch so I would try there until you get a signal.

4054 h 27500 3/4 is a very easy catch from 20e.

Try changing the plate to point at 2 o'clock/ 8 o'clock.

How did you get on with this Martin. Did you round to trying them?

Do they come with the dielectric plate?

Not a bad day here.I thought that I would have a go with my C Band LNB with it's cardboard cone. Not axpecting to get anything though.I blind scanned a couple of sats changed the LNB position a few times. Nothing as expected. Before moving the LNB one more time I sent the dish to 22W.'Well you never know do you' I got a bit of a shock when three channels popped up on the screen. If it is right I may Have to buy a propper offset cone.Could be egg on face time again though.:)

I am getting confused. Not hard I may add.
According to what I have read. With my TM5402HD.
For right use V.
For left use H.
My TM scanned this transponder in as 4116 V
Flysat lists the transponder as 4115 L
That means that my TM5402HD should have scanned it in as 4115 H.
Please enlighten me.:)
