has anyone asked on the GTMEDIA forum, i will check..
I wouldn't hold my breath to be honest..Octagon were asked to implement dB readings for the SX88...its never happened..i have now also.
Their server is probably down or under pressure with download requests. I’d hold off upgrading for the moment. Seems to be an issue with remote controls for some after the upgrade.... Just curious - is anybody else getting this message when checking for an 'online update' ?.
Web connection is fine and combo will display live youtube items etc.

Most set top box signal and quality levels are relative in that box only.
They provide a level comparison between TP's in the same box.

Agreed, more like can't be arsed! That reply from the GTMedia person seems to indicate they dont want to know about configuring the Combo to provide signal levels in dB.
Either that, or they do not have the skill level to implement it.
Pure bullsh!*!
But these are the disadvantages of a closed system like Android, you are completely dependent on the engineers. All that is needed a small series of code adaptations in the specific apps. Let alone when the tuner supports dbs natively and no conversion is needed. It's a pity these manufacturers sell these boxes for "other" capabilities and neglect such a simple but very crucial feature for our hobby...
The manufacturer (unless prompted by enough people) isn't in the slightest bit interested in the hobby.totally agree - in fact this very subject has been a topic of private conversation between a few Combo operators here in the UK.
It really is getting very frustrating to have to wait for a month or longer for an upgrade (ver 1.17 which i have), to include some crucial features that have been asked for several times to find that the 'upgrade' contains non crucial things to a lot of people
Any particular reason for the private chats on this topic. I thought the idea was to share the experience. Obviously not.totally agree - in fact this very subject has been a topic of private conversation between a few Combo operators here in the UK.

Chats amongst the beta testers before a release of the official version probably, is that such a problem?Any particular reason for the private chats on this topic. I thought the idea was to share the experience. Obviously not.
