Since the beginning of the creation of my positioner I have drawn 4 versions of motherboard, 3 types of keyboard, 2 models of LCD displays.
It was starting to be complicated to make modifications and then compile all these versions!
I also added some specific additions for Captain Jack, FEMI, etc.
I have reorganized my files with the use of assembly directives to have the most common pieces.
I also made a version for EGIS engine.
In a few days I will send an updated version to all.
I have no more contact with :
-Joolz
-danny10
-satfaca
if you are still interested in an update contact me.

FEMI and Aal41 I am working on the EGIS model and will contact you soon.

*********************************

I'm super interested in this project. Been looking all over for info. for an Arduino or pi DISEqC controller project.
Is it possible to get the project package? The wetransfer links have expired.
Reading on the progress of your work it looks like you really know what you're doing.

what is your skill in electronics?
do you only want circuit boards?
or a complete device ready to work?
in this assembly the biggest expense of money is the box and the display which have increased a lot in recent months !!!!

Skill? Fairly good. I perform board level repairs and restore vintage audio equipment, turntables, etc.
I have what it takes to do SMD work, microscope. All of those pieces of equipment.
I do have an ASC-1. Since they have been discontinued and the only parts are left at Titanium. Hopefully Brian can assist me.
I've been troubleshooting it. No schematics, voltage points, waveforms available so R.E. is my only option. So far all components test good.
I've pulled the relays and loaded them with 5 amps both NO & NC. Test good. Still I get a motor error or motor short. But the motor is good. Runs fine on external DC and pulls nomimal current. I'm stumped and had to give it a rest.

Since it's based on an NXP mcu I contacted NXP for info. There are tons of compatible developer boards on eBay. The road block is the cost of Codewrrior and my learning curve. So Arduino and pi were my next thoughts. About the only thing I've really used my Mega for is the serial port to flash routers, HDD, GPU firmware and debug using the serial console.

Actually when I asked this same subject on sat guys after googling my rear end off. One of the fellows there immediately sent me here. A big, big sigh of relief. I have used pcbway here and there occasionally.
I just really was psyched to see you have taken the time to develop a unit like you have.
Haha. Yeah. I'd like to build it all. Sometimes the expense is well worth the satisfaction of learning new things.
Thanks!

I post a little information about my microprocessor programmer.
I made an assembly between the programmer and the data cable.
I therefore only have a USB to TTL cable for the two functions.
this device is intended for the management and update of my positioner but also to read ATMEL chips.

Hi JP, do you have the latest version of your firmware or do I have the latest one already?

Hello dreambox1959,

I was planning to buy and install a 1.8m laminas dish. It hasn't happened yet due to lack of time,
but it is still on my todo list. This will be my first dish which is not on a diseqc positioner, but
will use linear actuators.

I know I can get by with one linear moter, but was thinking to install a polar mount in combination with
one or two actuators. Polarmount would have the advantage of being able to manually rotate the dish
and also not needing skew control motor (would be ok for most sats and I do not have many tools available for
custom made mechanical components).

I would still use two acturators. One for selecting the satellite and another for fine tuning elevation.
The latter could be optional at first.

Even if not 100% needed, skew control might come in handy later.

Does that make sense?

If you still have a box left, I would be willing to buy one now (to be shipped to Belgium).
Just let me know the price. Of course as it is not urgent: if you haven't got any left, it is not a major problem. I
still need to buy the dish, actuators .

I would also be interested in being able to upgrade the firmware later, or even make my own.
Juding from the forum, that should be no problem.

I have done such programming before. I also know how to solder, and have some test equipment,
but would prefer a ready made kit.

I don't know if you already have the LAMINAS dish. but the polar mount sold with it is of very poor design.
all owners of this model agree with this opinion (see the German forum satclub-thueringen) if you don't have the reflector yet, look for a channel master, otherwise consider making a larger and more solid polar mount. several people on the English forums know how to do this.

I haven't ordered the dish yet. I like laminas because of the low weight (easier mounting) and because I have the 120cm version, which is quite good (not cheap). I know there are other light weight dishes, but when I last looked (many years ago) laminas was the best compromise (also
for practical reasons like professional delivery).

I was planning to explore some options before buying anyway, as this is a significant investment. I would not mind second hand, but delivery is often an issue and locally not much is available above 1 meter.

Thanks for pointing out about the polar mount. I do not have the equipment and experience to make one myself so I prefer to buy something
(a good one of course)

You are talking about the original polar mount for Laminas antennas. Of course there are several variants to buy. I have this variant, but I decided on another option because I will use another variant of motors on the system

Would this one for sale then not have the problems of the original mount? I have not found the time to read the threads describing the problems.

Beli1910 got better results (even if it is not perfect for elevation)
the triangle ABC is bigger and stability and precision is better .

My antenna is still waiting. I have everything ready for my project, I just don't have time to assemble it. I hope it will be functional by autumn. Until then, the gibertini 150 will satisfy my needs.

More options is good, but also creates a bit of confusion. I will need to study in detail some time.

Like Neli1910, I hope that I will have a larger functional dish in autumn.
Also like Neli1910, I did not specify the year. :->

I will take it one step at a time.

I was curios to know if your still building any of these positioners. I just found out about your positioner, not to long ago and it looks like a great piece of equipment. My gbox mover is getting very flaky after many years, and there doesn't seem to be any good alternatives. I would have sent a pm, but I don't have the option too. Thanks Long Hair.
