@Denis1501:

I cannot confirm that at all. I'm using the HDCI since World Cup 2006 and can say despite some minor issues (EPG info cut off, poor outdated satellite/transponder list, no combination of fixed and motorized) this reciever was worth every cent.

The Picture via HDMI is flawless an no way to dark. You just have to use a decent TV (I am using a PTAE900 beamer).

The reciever has a VERY good user interface. Could use more favourite lists though...

The unit is working fine for two years now. I would still buy it for a setup with only DiseqC 1.0
Actually my father is demanding I buy one for him. Alternatives are Vantage 7100 or 8000 at 400 / 550 €. The Humax is 200€.

Only thing that upsets me is that Humax doesn't fix the bugs. It would be so easy.

I forgot to mention that I have had the humax for over a year and have had no problems, sure there may be a few quirks with it especially with the menus but overall I'm very pleased with it and it's performance. I think saying you're wasting your money on this receiver is a bit OTT. My advice is go and have a play with one and make your own mind up.

Problem is, Im showing no Sig Quality in (Search Channels) but
when I come out you would expect to see (No Signal),
but is reads (This Channel is scrambled or Not Working).

Those HD channels are clearing for me ATM using my fixed dish list, which is based on Laural's earlier 03 May one.

Don't see why the later one shouldn't be OK though.

(I'm using a Diablo cam with the latest underworld file to open the channels BTW)

Plenty of other boxes are now working with ITV HD, the technomate and the topfield, both better boxes than the Humax, just two that come to mind.
T-Rex Cam's work with 99% of boxes so why that's a reason to buy a HDCI-2000 I don't know, plus picture quality via HDMI is crap on the Humax (too dark, a known problem) and stunning on the other boxes.
You will have regrets if you buy this box!

Ok that's your opinion, I guess your setup might not be up to scratch, I don't know what TV you are using at the moment, but some LCD TV users have complained of dark pictures, but I have only experience that once, and that turned out to be a software issue.

I use a Pioneer plasma and the HD images are exceptional, horses for courses I guess:)

Oh, and BTW, I see from your list of equipment that you use a Humax HDCI-2000 :-rofl2

I had a humax 2000 (sold last week for £157) it is a good receiver but compared with say the new vantage 8000 out soon it is limited. Main thing is no ability to record HD / SD channels of course and no blind scan which the new vantage has

Remember these channels are still under test. Tonight, I can receive most of the six HD channels, but rarely all at any one time, e.g clicking through them all sequentially. A signal is present though on all channels.

For instance, staying on Supersport HD1 I had football, then after a blank screen for a minute or two, a DigitAlb promotional video.

Supersport HD2, just a logo, then a blank screen.

DigitAlb HD1, 2 and 3 OK, but 4 nothing at the present time, although I seem to remember getting the Supersport HD2 logo there at one time (!)

Looks interesting, might be tempted to exchange my 'Dreambox' and my 'Humax' for one of these :)

If you put your STB into stand-by and turn it back on, sometimes channels dissappear and you have to retune. This solves that problem.
I have experianced this with my Humax.

Hi, I tried last night to do an auto update and got a "no new update" message??
Can anybody help or have any suggestions, I tried a number of times and even tried selecting manual update and selecting Astra 1 in the sat menu all with the same results.

You can do a PC - STB update of v1.00.16 by downloading it from the Humax site.

I didn't fancy dismantling half my setup so I could get my box near the PC! On one of the previous posts it said you can do the update using Astra 1, I tried a manual update inputting all the info from the Humax site and still no luck????
Oh well looks like I'm gonna have to spend an afternoon dismantling. Will this update allow me to get ITV HD with a channel search?

Cheers

No, only receivable if you have it working already in your current channel list.
