Of course you are right - I also played with extreme voltages when a bit younger (well a lot younger) but what I was meaning here was that in the issue you have its a high voltage that's likely to be causing a failure.

Still think the problem is earth related, I,m going to drive an earth spike into the garden, if everyone on the forum visits the house " when the need calls " I don´t think they will ever have the problem again. But ( I know, English grammar states don´t start a sentence with but ) they will have a smelly garden!

No, English is one of the free languages, so "correct" grammar is a matter of opinion. No all powerful body like the RAE to decide what is right or wrong. But, of course, there will always be some pedant or other that wants to tell you what to do.

I would think incandescents would be very bright for a little bit.
Are there people still using those? Can't remember when I last saw one.

I still have a few in little used places that need instant light for just a few minutes. Doesn't seem justified in replacing with an LED until it blows.

GU10 halogens are still fairly popular, aren't they?

If you do that is there any way to bond the two properties to the same earth point to eliminnate any PD issues - even if the earth does get a bit iffy at times?

But when I went to school ( ex grammar school ) we were told you cannot do this!

So was I.

At the risk of spinning this thread wildly off course (maybe we need a Grammar and Spelling Grumbles thread!) I reluctantly have to agree with Huevos about the state of the English language. It may make my skin itch when I see misplaced prepositions and connectives but that's the way that the language is going.

And I even start sentences with a connective nowadays.

And to wildly object to less people writing correct sentences is in vain.

Have decided to forego the correction of the PD and have decided, instead, to create an infinity loop, figure this will both solve and confuse the problem at the same time!

( eliminate ) not 2 n´s, perhaps we do need the " Grammar and Spelling Grumbles thread! "

Grammar and Spelling Grumbles thread

I don't feel the above is necessary, I struggle with my grammar and spelling and I find it rude when the grammar/spelling police chime up, at the end of the day we are a satellite forum, we are not here to take the pi88 out of someone's disabilities,

No, we are not! BUT, it was a comical remark, made as an aside, within this thread. And sometimes this gives us all a good laugh, even if we are extracting the urine from ourselves!

( PS It was one of the forum gods who suggested it in the first place! )

No offence taken, somehow I managed to pass by English " O " level, but my spelling is shet! Thank the good Lord for auto-correct and forum software that tells you you have spelt it wrong!

( Paul, are the two consecutive " you "´s allowed? )

Probably not the politically correct place to ask this question. But, what were they good for! ( Answer not required, but as this is the " chit - chat " thread it should be permitted, Gods allowing, of course )
