Thanks for the comments Brian. All ok now and was simply that the dish had moved enough to still hold 12207V but not the lower frequencies.....quick nudge and tighten....done......glad it was that simple.
Can only think that the two chaps who were here making motes for further building mods must have knocked it somehow!

Be safe.

Running tests on the eclipse effect tonight. BBC South down to 9.6 dB from 10.0 dB an hour or so ago, but not sure if just time of day, or eclipse. ( levels as recorded on VU running on Laminas 1200 fixed dish )

BBC South now down to 9.0 dB, ITV HD on 11097 still holding at 9.5 dB , backs up the more txp´s more power drain theory

BBC South now back to 9.1 dB, lowest was 8.7 dB. ITV HD did not drop below 9 dB, until now, 8.9 dB. Must be back to time of day variance now.

had breakup briefly about same time even on my 2.4 - you get used to it at this time of year - at least there's nothing very special on at the time!!!

Have a problem with an installation for a friend in Quesada. Invacom quad lnb on 2.4m dish with cable runs of approx 50 meters to receivers in house. Jim noticed a problem a couple of days ago when he lost all signals on the bedroom box when he turned off the skybox in the living room. Turn it back on and the signals return to the bedroom. Swapped the lnb for new one, same problem. Tried swapping the feeds round on the lnb, still the same.
Checked with s1 meter and no problem. S1 can see the signal with or without living room box on. Got the Emitor out and noticed it could not see the signal unless the living room box is on. Was testing on 10818v and could see the signals go on and off when connecting the living room box, or ever the s1 on the feed. Switched the Emitor to H and could see the BBC´s as 10818H ! Suspected voltage drop over cable run, but when checked with dc voltage meter and does not appear to be the case.
Emitor tester has now packed up completely, so unable to test further with it, not sure if the Emitor was dying when I was running tests, but that would not explain why the STB is having the same problem.
Going back to try again now with another new lnb, s1 and dc meter.
Are the Invacoms especially sensitive or have known problems with long cable runs?
All cables were new this year when Jim acquired the dish from a neighbour.
Any ideas?

Forgot to add all four connections tested ok with the Emitor when connected with test cable at the dish

Sounds very odd - I have a 2.4PF and Invacom quad and never had a similar issue. My cable runs vary from about 5 to 50m and I notice only a very slight difference in the reception from either length. A friend has an identical set up and is providing feeds of about 80m to his next door neighbour - again without any problems. For me the receiver makes the biggest difference. I am using several types; 2*Pace 2600c + 1 cheapo Manhatten + 1 Humax Foxsat and getting perfect but different levals of reception on all the boxes. To me it sounds like you may have a blown LNB or a possible shorting problem in the feed voltage to the LNB or only one of the boxes giving out the LNB voltage feed. I have been using Invacom LNBs for about 8 years and the only two peoblems I have ever had was one feed blowing on the LNB after a lighning strike on a twin Invavom and one feed going soft on a quad, I think through continued exposure to very hot sun, although that has never been repeated in over 6 years since the current LNB was installed. Its never even been tweaked since then either! I did hear of somone with a problem a little like yours but that turned out to be because he was using a quattro thinking it was a quad!

No, It don´t help, but the thought was there, which helps a lot!
Ran every dc test I could think of, then using the s1 ran tests with dBm and dBuV , got all the results I would expect, NOTHING WRONG. And to be fair, the whole set-up is working fine today with no problems. Now I am confused.
Put a short circuit on the end of the cable, DC test gave me o.o Ohms, did a voltage test at back of box and end of cable, 13.2 on V 18.2 on H, same either end. Using s1 had 6dBm loss on actual signal, but same on SNR, so should not impact performance. Also recorded dBuV but nothing unusual there either.

I would replace/redo the F-connector in the bedroom in case it's an intermittent fault not delivering dc. It's easy to fool oneself believing you're doing an a/b test when it's actually totally random.
