Jazz FM has been removed from epg 0167, but is still broadcasting on 12363V 27500 2/3

Sad. Although mostly the 'smooth' variety, it was relaxing to have on in the background. J**z is a verboten word nowadays when it comes to radio via Sky (Apart from Music Choice - at a price).

I have read that all the Ch4's ( C4 + E4 + m=More4 + Film 4)

Unlikely - the backhaul costs for every tiddly station to the uplink centre in London would be horrible.. If I hear of it happening - it will be reported here!

Film 4 will be either fta or ftv in July. Exactly which is open to interpretation, although there is a Film4 +1 test running fta at the moment (although with no audio)

Channel 4 is unlikely to move to fta before 2008 when their encryption contract runs out. More 4 falls under the same contract as C4.

FilmFour+1 has scrambled its signal on Astra 2A, however I found out that it is now “discoverable” (as is the Quiz channel) with my S*y digibox !

This news about the removal of Jazz FM from SDO:

Guardian Media Group have confirmed to Sky Digi Online that it has no plans to bring back Jazz FM on Sky Digital.

The web-based station launched on Sky on 7th June 2005. The internet version of the channel has a different output to its main London station Jazz FM, which re-launched as 102.2 Smooth FM last year.

Jazzfm.com's Managing Director Roy Bennett told Sky Digi Online that even though the service's Sky Digital presence was short lived, the channel will continue to broadcast online.

"As part of Jazzfm.com ongoing development we have decided to focus all our resources on improving the core product. This will enable us to not only expand the audio and visual aspects of our service but also better serve all our valued listeners around the world as well as the UK."

Jazz FM was removed from the Sky EPG last Wednesday (3rd May). It previously broadcast on 0167.

FilmFour+1 transmitting from Astra 2A has become visible to digiboxes. As per my FTA box its signal is encrypted, however my digibox is able to decrypt it so the case might be that it is FTV (as I have no subscription to FilmFour). No sound though ! ! !

On 12480V FilmFour+1 has stop its "soundless" encrypted transmission. It has been replaced by a promotional loop of More 4, visible with a digibox, though encrypted.
