I sometimes go out an look for railroad spikes and old hardware, but the big problem around here is that there is too much fools gold in the soil, it gets in the way.

Best thing I found was an old 1873 winchester rifle, it was under some floor boards in a very old cabin, (good place to look for things) it was all rusted up but I still got $500 for it as is.

I'd look for gold but all the good land around here for that is under claim, you can get shot real fast if your out looking for that stuff and your on someones claim.
That's a nice find Terry never found a gun but i do find live rounds now and then i handed one in this morning at the police station,

The oldest coin ive found is this to my knowledge, i still own this coin the British museum doesn't own an example its very rare i have it on loan to them atm i have lots of coins that have never been identified mainly roman bronze coins.

I found a fossil in Bushy Park a couple of years back, no need for the metal detector.

Hi Even the coin cleaned under the tap, its Bristol mint
Bristol
The mint at Bristol was active during the initial recoinage, between 1280 and 1281, and also participated in the subsequent one of 1300, striking coins of types 2b, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3f, 3g and 9b. The reverse legend is VILLA BRISTOLLIE, VILL BRISTOLIE or VIL BRISTOLIE, sometimes with an apostrophe-like contractive mark after the abbreviation of VILLA.

I will be cleaning the token up later tonight I will post a before and after cleaning :)

Hi cleaning finished, ive spent hours experimenting cleaning silver coins and found a way that works with out damaging the coin, I am just toning the coin now and will post it up again when complete, the coins not worth anything, but nice to bring it back to life :).

Here is an example of a uncirculated one.
Token, 19thC: York silver shilling 1811, Cattle and Barber, Unc
