so i finished up settling up the dish. The motor works grand with it but I get this strange strange problem
I tune in DigitalB (16e) and end up with thor channels (0.8w) its the weirdest thing iv seen. This problem has just occurred a few hrs after installation was finished, up to then everything was grand besides I having trouble to save channels to the drambox but I think that's my fault. So this strange problem is it the dish or box?

Delete those channels and make sure the dish is on 16ºE before you start the scan.

hi mate

Yes those channels are deleted because when i go into Tuner Configeration and change it to "no configured" I get this message "Delete no more configured satellite Telecome2D/Atlantic2 (8.0w)? and its the same for other satellites
and yes to all

im not sure what does that mean tbh, but anyway

Mate, they are never finished, always some tweaking to do! but looking good now.
May I just suggest you fix the lnb cable from the motor to the pole as they can come loose with all that turning.
What I normally do is tape it to the pole, then up behind and over the top of the motor then down the back of the dish.

thats a good idea about the cable behind the motor, sandybob

Bob you know your motor there and compare it to mine, do you think mine should be up slightly a bit more
Yours looks dead centre, I dont think mine is

Don't think it really matters, although there may be slightly less strain on the motor if it's a little higher, closer to the bearing support. But if your happy with it, leave it till next time you feel the urge to tweak it.

Spring the dish to see where improvements can be made, then take back to reference and re-align. Check all is still plumb/level.

The rain is gone now and still cant watch a thing

Why is that ?

could it be to do with the attachment that wasn't installed in my dish?

I had a Triax dish many, many years ago and tbh I can't recall that part. Any idea where it fits, if not I am sure there are members here that will help.

bob I think its to help the dish not to move up and down or somthing like that, the satellite installer told me its not essential but I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him

plus I have other matters of concern like my dish not moving full westward by the Dreambox but iv asked for help on another forum so hopefully that comes soon

I think that part fits within the sides of the dish bracket and is intended to improve rigidity.

I have one for my TD110 and there was a Thread here (somewhere!) a few weeks ago where another Triax owner was having problems which turned out to be do to that same part not being fitted.

So your Installer was probably wrong to say it's not essential.

I shall have a qick search for that Thread, but haven't got long owing to Masterchef being on quite soon!

Can't find the Thread offhand, but maybe someone else might remember the same issue.

It only takes a few seconds to insert the part prior to hanging the dish.

That's not saving time - It's plain bone idle.

Sorry, old chap, still can't find it.

Must go, too ................. nothing keeps me from Masterchef.

NOTHING!!

Hope it comes to light as it was a salutary lesson in the problems not fitting that part can cause.

Ah, then it seems he didn't have a full set of skills either :)

I hope it gets sorted out without any further problems.
