That was raining cats&dogs today couple of times, and bowl of nuts&bolts was forgotten on the site. Bowl was half full/empty with water IMG_20160802_152740 (Custom).jpg , but nuts&bolts are made of material :rolleyes: that likes water , so, no problem at all. Have installed some segments, only one left, but that one will be fixed when antenna is lowered. Of course I can close the gap right now but then will not be able to escape. IMG_20160802_204344 (Custom).jpg IMG_20160802_210933 (Custom).jpg It is very hidden place up there, if you climb the ladder you see very nice picture IMG_20160802_205656 (Custom).jpg and situation becomes even better when zoomed in IMG_20160802_205656a.jpg .

hat size is it? Please.
I can not measure it alone, and I do not have tape in such a size, but specs says it is 4,6m :eek: (working area).

BTW with a dish like that, what sort of LNB do you strap on to it to check for Ku band signals?
Surely not a 10 EUR GI 209P?
(which reminds me of something...)

Why not, GI-209P is great LNB. But, in case of current antenna I will use IBU putting it in second focus of antenna's SUB. Yes, I need to install the SUB

No problem with power connection of the house 380V 3ph up to 32 Ampere. Lathe runs on 380V, new (self-made) grinder runs on 380V, plane for wood is for 380V.
According to this data I think its made for the USA 3 ph 120 v ac

Hi Rimas, You can first test without SUB reflector.
Later You can add SUB reflector and measure how much better is antenna with SUB reflector, or isn't any better.

SUB is made of casted aluminum, it's working area is 608mm in diameter and depths in the middle is 275mm. I did not measure dish yet, so, can not tell much about focal distance and f/d ratio.

Cuz it is Gregorian type of antenna. If it had convex type of SUB it would be Cassegrain antenna ;)
Add: And, yes there are 4 variations of double-reflector antennas available:
- prime-focus Gregorian type;
- prime-focus Cassegrain type;
- offset Greforian type (like Fibo dishes);
- offset Cassegrain type (only one ever produced, namely Fuba 75cm dish).

Did some measurements today. Diameter of the working area is 4600mm and depth 800mm, which means that f/d ratio of this dish is 0.36 and opening angle 139*. Distance from the middle of the dish to it's focus 1653mm. Also measured distance from the middle of the dish to end of feedarms, and this distance is 1910mm AndrewDraw.jpg . So, @st1 was right.... I will be attaching GI-209P. To fit it I've made special holder which will allow to change distance from the LNB to the center of the dish and also change skew of the LNB IMG_20160804_234247 (Custom).jpg . Will install new holder with LNB tomorrow and it might happen that "First signal celebration" will be tomorrow. I was late in the garage with doors widely open, suddenly this run inside, and it was fast runner (picture is not so clear) IMG_20160804_233415 (Custom).jpg .
