I found these yesterday getting through leaves like no ones business, I was going to take them to the fields and release them but i put them back to do what they have to do, after a bit of research there Elephant Hawk-moth larvae, bloody big things :eek:.

Have not seen many butterflies this year but today's sun brought a couple to my buddleia, the honey suckle is just there because I love the smell it is a shame smellivison never took off

Hi, I went metal detecting yesterday and came across these puff balls they are massive, I seen a few over the years but not as big as these :eek:.

You can cook and eat them you know. The one without the lighter on top looks the better one.

Slice one up and cook in butter. Yum. (Other recipes available).

Thanks Paul, if I cooked that there wouldn't be mushroom on the plate for anything else:-lol, mushrooms was further down the field :).

Was working at a new build today and saw a lot of Swallows , surprised that they were still here. They spent a lot of time flying in and out of a tall porch and when i looked up, spotted these tow. Very late indeed to be feeding nest bound young. It was a bit dark up there, so photo a bit grainly.P9105840.JPG

Hi, popped out today and bought a couple of feed stations, since the sunflowers have grown its hard work trying to view what's on the feeders, so ive put the stations in the middle of the garden for the winter months :).

Yes I guess so Paul, there was a programme on the other night about it I did not pay that much attention, the wife was watching it.
