I was driving car when this one View attachment 109790 was trying to cross the street. Actually it crawled quite fast. So, I stopped for photo-session. The body of it was about 5cm long. Is it mole-cricket?

No idea what it is, but what an amazing creature.

It looks a bit like a Diestrammena asynamora (introduced) but the wings are not evident on that

So yes I would go with a mole cricket

My daughter found this on the beach at Shoreham today. Almost certainly a fossil, but what ?

Octopi have two lines of suckers on their tentacles, but I'm pretty certain starfish don't.

Urchin ?

We disturbed this little chap when we were cutting the grass. This was about a month ago but I only got around to downloading the pics a couple of days ago.

You'd never know from photographs but they can move quite fast.

We had strong wind about week ago and tree was not so young as well, so, it lost another brunch (one was lost about year ago). Luckily tree is not so far from me (about 100-150m) and I will collect this broken brunch. I expect there is 3-4 cubic meters of firewood. IMG_20170824_083015 (Large).jpg

For several days I am observing this butterfly in the garage. I think it is some kind of simbioze, I enjoy to watch it, it likes friendly atmosphere and some food/drinks left-overs..... maybe not. :)

I have this butterfly already long time living in the garage. Usually it appears from nowhere and likes to have picture of it taken. Should I finally give it a name?

As it's a Tortoiseshell, why not call it Alastair?
