While in London I was looking for some antennas to take pictures and post them in in "Dishes in holiday" thread, but it is much harder to find good antenna in your capital than object of nature
...
Reasons are mainly do to with planning regs:
- nothing "domestic" greater than 1m, and only one other dish not greater than about 60cm - anything "bigger" is very difficult to "disguise" because our houses are so close together and "some people" "blow the whistle" on anything that "stands out". OTOH, the fronts of some highstreet buildings are literally covered with small dishes which are much more of an eyesore -
and yet the local councils seem to ignore those
- Commercial dishes tend to be on the tops of tall buildings and/or on industrial estates which are hard to access.
OTOH, we now have many green spaces and a thriving wild bird population - both indigenous and "imported".
