Finally got the new runs of coax I wanted, one is for the 1.5 dish, 1 run is for the lnb Changer, 1 run is for my radio scanner/sdr also added some 4 core cable for the motor.

Plus I managed to pop the conduit cover back on in the lounge. (You would never know it’s been off)

While I was in the loft I found the rf distribution amp and found it is not dab compatible so I have ordered a replacement that will allow dab.

Now I just need to pop that aerial up :D

It’s slowly starting to progress forwards.

Tbh I'm not sure DAB is good to have running through the system with all the other requirements at the other bands.

Are you checking all the signal levels are similar before they combine?

Yes I have been checking as I go, I only have a pure dab radio at the moment as I have never been able to get a signal in the front room, so never bothered to upgrade that.

I need to get myself a dab radio that will take an external input for the aerial.

Just check that adding a new band isn't going to upset what you already have running around.

Some people have mentioned interference from newer domestic lighting can get into the cabling using the Band III input.

Ok I will keep a watch on it, when I have the rest of the bits to actually add it in.

Thanks for the heads up :Y

As a radio ham I can say that LED lighting can be a pain. However I've found Philips bulbs to one of the best, no issues with 2 Ikea bulbs either. It's the SMPS in these bulbs that create noise/QRM and the cheap ones omit filtering or have switching frequencies right inside the band's that are used.

I will swap the spot light for my standard lamp tomorrow.

Hopefully that will solve an issue before it happens.

If you do go LED try Philips. They also seem to have the best CRI out of any led lamp.

Got the cable joiner for the fm/dab aerial today.

So installed that on the pole with the fm aerial, now sat in the front room listening to dab on the pc via an sdr dongle.

I still haven’t ordered a dab radio with external aerial socket.

Still waiting for the loft amp.

Tacked the coax and motor cable running up the side of the bungalow.

I ordered an another aerial for 147/155 MHz got that yesterday, so I want to install it and found it was broken at the round block.

Sent the guy a message explaining the problem. He was really good about it he will send me a replacement.

Does he want it sent back?

Some thing else is wrong with it as I can’t get any signal from it, he thinks it may have an intermittent fault due to the fibreglass cover coming off in transit, If I switch to another aerial my setup works.

He is supposed to be sorting me another one out as soon as he can.

My maplins meter stick will do as a temporary aerial.

The fibreglass probably can be glued back on.

Still waiting for his reply to my message asking him if he wants the old one back.

I have a Pure Dab Evoke 2S Radio that does not get all the Multiplexes but my Roberts Dab radio's have a much better tuner & can pick up Dab that the Pure cannot,

Best Dab Radio's I have tested :-
1/Roberts Stream 93i
2/Roberts Stream 83i
3/Roberts Stream 217
4/Roberts Classic Dab ll

Now I have finally got the coax runs in and the new motor cable I hope it shouldn’t take me to much longer to sort out.

First job is to take the polar mount and dish off the stand, then I need to clear the broken bags of gravel from the base.

I hope to use some concrete fence posts to secure the nprm to. (I have 4 waiting)

Plus I am still waiting for some of the other bits I have ordered.

Mine is the pure one classic s2 It has one speaker and no external aerial input, although you can buy a plugin speaker to make it stereo.

At some point I probably will get myself a radio tuner for the hifi but that’s on the low priority list.

Sorted the base out today. Now waiting for the R-kem to cure. Hopefully tomorrow I will put the polar mount and dish back on the stand.

Good boy, nobody 'needs' DAB.

Also had a scary moment when I broke the skeleton gun half way through, luckily I was able to go to b&q and get a replacement quickly as the r-kem had started to go off.

Also put the 1.25 on the nprm in the corner of the garden with some fixed lnb’s.

Also aligned my td88 clone for some more fixed lnb’s.
